Anyone else find themselves watching games until VAR or the interpretation of VAR completely ruins the enjoyment? NU v Fulham last night was a good example. Foul outside the box not enough to take Wilson down. He takes another couple of paces then dramatically throws himself down. Correct decision is a foul given outside the box and Yellows to both players. Red for Anderson at a pinch (2nd yellow after very harsh first when Richie dived)

Clear as day. VAR says to Graham Scott "Not sure that's a pen, go and check the monitor". He looks then gives the pen and sends Anderson off.!

TV off for me and blood pressure returns to normal.

Apart from us I don't bother watching any games now. I've no interest in watching the sport I love being reduced to the shambolic, farcical sitcom it has become because of the governing body that is in charge of it.

I am old school,I grew up watching the likes of Dave Mackay, Billy Bremner, and others of that ilk who would both give and take a bit of the rough stuff and not go whining off to the ref, or throwing themselves onto the ground with an almost pantomime theatricality to it.
I watched Salah a little while back and the OTT dramatics from him just made me want to kick my tv in. You'd have thought someone had hacked away at his shins with a machete, like a 'Nam vet chopping his way through the swathes of reeds in the jungles and forests outside of war-torn Ho Chi Minh.
Replays showed there was no physical contact to make him go down like he did, so he was obviously cheating, hoping to get a penalty. But the ref (can't remember who it was) gives nothing and Salah springs to his feet and continues playing.

This is not the game I've loved all my life. This is not what we used to do in the playgrounds and play fields of my youth, cheat to gain an advantage.
The sport is barely recognisable now from the 60's and 70's game that I knew and played, and I truthfully do lay the blame at the door of Pigmol and the way VAR is implemented.

Diving has increased hugely with the implementation of VAR.
It's not long ago since 'simulation was considered a "scourge on the game' which the PTB were going to eradicate.

Well done fellahs.

Var , bent refs have almost achieved their paymasters dream , a Liverpool v Utd top 2 shootout for the title , ultimately what all this was about .
