Var debate 2019/20

Sorry to repeat myself but:

All aspects of the game require the ball to have completely crossed the line to be considered a goal or out of play. Why is offside any different? The attacker should be completely beyond the final defender, not offside because a toenail is the wrong side. It's actually a really easy change for FIFA to make and could be brought in very quickly. It doesn't resolve everything by any means but as things stand this is going to kill the game and quickly I reckon.

And I'm unanimous on this!!!

honestly I don’t think so. I recall Liverpool scoring offside goals and winning penalty’s by diving far more last season - at the moment a lot is going to VAR with them and it showing majority of time that they are getting it marginally correct, it’s the fact that they seem to be getting these marginal calls in their favour that has caused uproar - yesterday that really wasn’t a handball by VVD, that wasn’t a handball by Lallana and by the law interpretations given it was a offside goal from Wolves. All 3 were the correct decisions but when they are against you it’s hard to swallow and it creates anger.
You’re just taking the piss now you need banning , don’t know how you’ve got away with it so long on here .

I'll be forever proud of our great Club for winning the last unassisted premier league.
Not sure that was completely unassiisted, had it been we would have won it by a bigger distance than we did.

About 1000 pages ago, I said that I don't understand why there is such a rush to chalk goals off, by the finest of margins, when the whole point of football is scoring goals to win matches, its complete madness really, football is slowly eating itself.

I used round numbers in the calculation of margin of error.
I based the calculation on the frame rate of 50 fps published in an article in the daily mail about sterling's goal v west ham. The calculated margin of error then was 13cm so sterling's speed was closer to 6.5 m per second…
The margin of error is variable, dependent on players relative speeds.
The relative velocity of defender and attacker should be used in the calculation. An extreme example with players moving in opposite directions at 10 m per sec gives a margin of error of 40 cm!
You quote two frame rates of 150 and 340 fps. Are different frame rates used at different grounds I wonder?
Do they really use in play cameras continuously recording at 150 fps never mind 340fps?

You alright there mate? I thought you asked a genuine question and I answered, that's all. Sorry if you are offended.

If you are here to denounce the bus wreckers and bin dippers, it ain’t working.

jog on scouse boy.

no. I’m just very sceptical that without VAR the refs and officials are in a far easier posistion to give pens and rule goals out. How can that not be the case ? If a goal is scored a ref can just blow up and say he saw a push somewhere.
Bollox to you thinking I’m taking the piss when I’m giving a very real scenario that we’ve had to put up with for years and years.

One more for you.
Aguerrooooo goal for your title winner. What if the lino just put his flag up , would you have accepted that ?? Yes or No.
Or had he flagged would you have liked the officials to check with VAR and then justice prevails.

sorry I see things different to you on this but I’ve stated many times the things I don’t like with VAR but I’m more weary of going back to the old system of refs blind guessing. But guess having a opinion different to yours is being a WUM
