Var debate 2019/20

It’s always going to modified and tweaked for the better - same as the laws before VAR. The game evolves each year and VAR is still in its infancy- it’s always going to look at ways to improve or would you prefer VAR to remain as it is ?
There is no excuse for the clusterfuck we have where different calls are made by var teams and who the teams are, they tested it pn prem games behind the scenes last season so they werent starting cold

If they hadn't of bastardised it and used it differently to everyone else they wouldn"t have half the probs it has

Until i'm told why no pundits or media are asking questions why the dippers don't have a var screen and the rags and why they keep chalking off goals at anfield whilst letting them get away with blatant handballs and let their goals stand then i will keep shouting the question,it stinks

I hate it & am giving up the game I loved because of it but job isn’t done , they’re not scrapping it , it’s doing the job it was designed for. They can manipulate games , get the winners they want while the fans are argueing what’s right or wrong, devided & conquered.
Absolutely.

Quote " its having a positive effect on the league table" did you all miss that bit?

I never saw that shown to be fair.

That picture seems heavily cropped, here's the full picture.

The angle of that line looks dodgy(is that why it was cropped?) I would like to see it in motion because it's hard to tell the moment it leaves the passer's foot which I believe is supposed to be the moment in question.

I looked on the replays at this pass and he appeared onside is the only reason I'm still questioning it. It does look like he could have been off from this angle though, less convinced it's another robbery now. Bit of a relief if anything, there's too many already.

The "moment" is when it first touches the boot of the player who plays it to the player who may be offside.

What I can't understand is that in the days of Sky, BT and all offering you the chance of watching the games in ultra HD then why do all the clips of off-side decisions look as grainy as fuck like they've been recorded on a 1960's cine camera.

As has been said by the people in charge of VAR they dont know down to a mm when the ball is passed, so they guess.
They came out a few months ago and said that ( not the guessing bit ). Didnt they say this weekend that VAR isnt used to see if the keeper is of his line on penalties because they weren't 100% sure when the ball was hit . But they can tell when a outfield player has encroached, on penalties.
They are making up as they go depending which teams are playing, why the press/media arent calling out this cheating is ridiculous. It's a national scandal.
VAR has really devalued any competition this season.
How can you have a competition which is played under different rules depending on where you are playing ? Premiership teams at home play under VAR, premiership teams playing against lower league team NO VAR. Same goes for lower league teams. Different set of rules but in the same competition !! Its mad , cant think of any other sport that does this.
It's like at Wimbledon they only use Hawkeye on the seeded players !!

It must be getting to the point were the premier league is becoming a laughing stock around Europe and sponsors will start thinking about pulling out.
