Sorry, I've looked at the pen several times. He hesitates for 2 or 3 seconds, just enough time to be sure there cannot be a city advantage. If you start from the premise he is bent, you see what you want to see. Conspiracy theories gone mad!

I agree, but ref has to check. He decided City could not get an advantage and gave the pen, all of 2/3 secs later. Bluemoon is beginning to rival Rawk in victimhood.Sorry but what possible advantage can City get from Mahrez on the floor when the nearest players are all West Ham players ? There was nothing to wait for !
IMO someone told him to make the decision whether the assistant or VAR .

Edit agree with your para 1. Rest is guess work
Sorry, your view as a spectator is different from what the ref sees on the ground. He can't see that no City player can follow up until he backs off and looks. You start from the propostion that he is bent or biassed and view events thru that prism. Look at fan sites, every fan of every club thinks they are hard done to. It is a clear foul but refs are under instruction to wait until it is clear there is no advantage. You seem to overlook that he gave the pen. Had a city player been in a position to follow up and despatch the loose ball into the net but the ref had blown immediately you would be complaining about that.. More balance required. Perhaps you would like to post evidence of this refs bias, rather than a 12 year old's view.Check what ? It’s a clear foul .. so give it. If we have no players near the ball how can we possibly gain any advantage. It doesn’t take 2 or 3 seconds to see that there are no players wearing black shirts anywhere near the ball which is now in West Ham’s possession !
The problem with challenging anything is you need all the facts! I know when something smells fishy even if I haven’t yet found the source of the smell.
Looking forward to seeing VAR in action against Spurs.Hope we are not “really unlucky” with the decisions yet again like in the Champions League game.

Tee hee. Lol etc. Fair fucks, but wrong. Sooner? It was 2or three seconds.Where is your evidence that I am starting from the proposition that I think he is biased or bent ? I am questioning his ability not his integrity. I believe he should have given the penalty sooner.
IMO there was no reason for him to wait to see if there was an advantage ( an assumption on your part that that was the reason for his delaying pointing to the spot) because no City player was anywhere near the ball? From his angle there were only West Ham players near the ball ( unless you think he was waiting for Mahrez to jump back up again?) There was no other City player “ in a position to follow up” . Maybe you need to pop along to Specsavers.
Now I know it’s the school holidays but it’s well past your bedtime . Come back on here to debate when you have grown up.

I heard they use the first frame. The offside law references the moment when the ball is played. They need a standard and then need to stick to it.It's not VAR itself that's the problem it's the way it's being used particularly for offsides.
I've heard Hawkeye technology is being used but no-one seems to be able to explain how the VAR decides whixh frame is used to decide when the player passes the ball.
I don't think enough has been done to explain the finer points of how it's being used, most people seem to still be in the dark.
