Var debate 2019/20

Not read previous posts tonight. So not sure if it’s already been mentioned.
But what’s confusing me the most is how quickly it took for today’s VAR checks to be completed.

I was flicking between watching the games yesterday afternoon and most notably ended up mainly watching the spurs / Sheffield United game & burnley / West Ham games.
In the second half both checks for the Sheffield United goals took well over 3 or 4 minutes a piece.
In fact any key decisions this year have taken a hell of amount of time to decide the outcome of possible cancelled goals/penalty decisions etc.. so why in a game of such magnitude and a potential factor in the outcome of the how the rest of the season pans out for the title race wasn’t it checked thoroughly?
Any other league across Europe, in the MLS, and the Australian A League and the champions league, the referees would have halted play and made sure the decision was confirmed/rectified to avoid any controversy. Those decisions today in any of the above leagues would have been reviewed by the on field official on the monitor pitch side.
Something really doesn’t sit right with me on how we seem to be using the system over here.

I’m not a fan of VAR but it works so well in other countries and they have a decision in less than a minute. Most notably the MLS.
I’ve not seen a single official go over to a monitor in this league. Absolute bottle jobs and they’re making this league a farce.

Like the majority on here I’ve spent my life following city but for the first time in 29 years I’m really considering packing it all in.
The bastards that run this game are ruining it for us all.

Also we didn't get the usual half dozen replays of the possible offside for their second goal.

Was VAR implemented in Sunday's match?

Reading a lot on social media, from an "IMPECCABLE source" that VAR was not in use in the first half of the match - and given the silly fast check of the first goal it seems likely.

i guess we will have to see if anything comes out in the wash.

Why the quick decisions instead of the normal 2 minute piss take?
Why the lack of official VAR graphics on the offside (30 minutes after the incident)
Why were the assistant referee's behaving like pre-VAR (i.e. Flagging for everything)?

I'll take one of those being the case, but all three?
The day before it took 5 mins to decide that a Sheff United players toenail was offside, Was VAR used yesterday? I dont think so as there was nothing to indicate it was

So two week international break for all this to die down now, and then Frankie Lampards new media darlings can get all the decisions go their way in another Saturday night thriller and it's liiiiiiiive ! Wonder who the "ref" will be ? Atkinson I reckon, the only thing that needs to be decided is where is he most valuable on the pitch or behind the VAR screen ?

Independent of VAR we were simply not good enough at times yesterday .Defending was sloppy and finishing was dreadful

we all knew the troubles VAR would bring before the season started, and the new rules in place for handball was in black and white and the players and fans new the rule, sadly the officials don't understand them, clearly 2 major points change the game for liverpool and if the new rules and VAR was used then liverpool don't score both goals

sadly manchester city now have to beat another team ?? team VAR, match officials, and the other team we are playing, its simple earning the right to play a game of football and win the game is hard enough but manchester city have to beat the system first, we must have some team and what pep is saying is right the last two titles we have won are the best in his football career as manager and special
