Var debate 2019/20

Need VAR in the Championship, West Brom just got a penalty for a blatant dive. Charlie Austin scores, and Preston can feel well aggrieved.
What that needs is the rule that said if a player cheated and it lead to a goal he would be banned. Three games to start and you can bet it would soon start to take effect. The problem was it went from players simulation being the target to the refs and ex players looking for a tiny touch and justifying the dive without penalty.

this is all forgotten once VAR is implemented.
Last couple of seasons Liverpool, notably Salah won countless penalty’s by diving - has he made a dive this season and won a pen ?

It doesn't matter as the VAR official can just lie and say they didn't have an angle that shows the incident conclusively, and therefore stick with the on-field ref..... and they are COMPLETELY unaccountable.

Here's an idea I have been mooting with my friends and family. A VAR review has to be completed in 1 minute. If it cannot be determined that the ref has made a mistake within that period then the game goes on with the on-pitch decision. If it is obvious (which is the stated criteria) then you only need to look at it once or twice. There will always be a degree of debate with or without VAR, at least this way the game goes on without too much delay.

Nah still open to manipulation.

I still think cricket have it right where each captain is given three reviews in a game that’s it up to him if and when he uses them

so your losing 1-0 to liverpool, and from 88 minutes Henderson decides to use his 3 reviews for a throw in decision, then a minute later wants a review for a innocuous tackle on a liverpool player, then a minute later wants to use a review for another pointless incident. it would be used as a time wasting tactic and be farcical

You really think the victims could go 88 minutes without feeling victimised?

you can stop the clock you know for a review like it does now.
