Lucky for us Arsenal blew up in the run-in, But the 3 points dropped could have cost us the treble.

It was on the agenda. The Premier League were happy to go ahead and use it if the clubs wanted it. But they voted against.

I think the main concern ( or excuse if you like ) is something they are always very vocal about, which is keeping one set of the laws of the game, that can be applied to all games of football, at all levels, anywhere in the world.
You could in theory have amateur football referees using a stopwatch. But it would be pretty impractical.

it is the same reason it cost us a fortune locally to install goalline technology and VAR for our local under 13 team at our local park…. In order to ensure the game is the same at all levels .…..

Someone already did that gag about 10 posts back. Using VAR and goal line technology doesn’t involve a change of any laws of the game. Just the way they are implemented from competition to competition.
But it encourages law changes and different interpretations to "assist" or "benefit from" VAR.

Apparently semi-automated technology (SAOT) is not on the agenda and won't be coming to the PL anytime soon. Funny because Serie A introduced it in January after the World Cup.
