To be fair to the lad, he comes on and makes a point and everyone is telling him to fuck off. He gives the thread a swerve for a while and there's a dozen posts demanding he comes back and explains every decision they didn't like.
The thing with his opinion is I totally get what he says and can understand why he'd feel the way he does as a West Ham fan.
17 of the 20 clubs in the Premier League get referee'd the same as all the others, some mistakes are made in games with some benefiting the team and some going against them. If you support West Ham, or Bournemouth, Everton, Brighton, etc, etc then watching your team you will genuinely more than likely see the decisions evening out over a season.
What he doesn't get is that the 3 teams that get extra leeway within the rules are all either current rivals, former rivals or our local derby rivals so for us the decisions don't even out over a season because our rivals are constantly getting a leg up due to pressure from the press.
It's easy to say it all evens out over a season when an incorrect decision may possibly mean the difference between finishing 8th or 9th but when it's the difference between finishing 1st or 2nd, or in an FA Cup Final, or a Champions League Quarter final then the stakes and emotions are naturally higher.
For what it's worth, I think
@BlueHammer85 states his position well and has never said anything more than he thinks that referees should have access to television replay to help with decisions. He's never antagonistic, despite the abuse he gets for having a different opinion to others, and states his position clearly. Calling him out when there's a bad decision is just as bad as him calling people out when VAR makes a good decision, it's pointless focusing on individual errors when its the bigger picture that should be discussed. I don't agree with his opinion but can understand why he, and plenty of City fans too, has it and hopefully he can understand why we have different opinions on this than he does.
