VAR in regards to City related incidents.

Thought Pep was excellent with his comments about the offside / handball goal , if that was Klopp , PEG , Pinnochio or the majority of top flight managers they would have been moaning , but he brushed it aside because he knows he has the best squad in the land and little indiscretions from the officials will not stop us winning another title by some margin. Watched the Dippers a couple of times and there is nothing i have seen that should worry us , they will grind out more results because there defence has improved but they have zero creativity in that team.

I don't fully agree. I think the way he handled the question, which was the way I would have handled it, as it's the right way in normal circumstances, was excellent, however.

I don't think it's the best way. That Scotish guy at United, the one who was there a long time, he would give the refs both barrels, consistently, he would even threaten to make sure refs didn't referee united matches again, he'd regularly get punished for these comments.

Causing as much fuss and uproar over these decisions, in the media, meant that, subconiously, if a referee has to make a decision, and he isn't sure, and he knows the consequence of an incorrect decision, you can bet your last quid he isn't going to give it against united. I saw the effect of this for years, I believe it's why there is a big club bias in the first place, and why the biggest supported clubs don't want VAR.

To a certain degree Pep has let the officials off here, and has almost made it acceptable for them to make mistakes against us. I think the way Pep has handled it shows a lot of class, but in a game when people are constantly claiming throw ins, corners, feigning injury, diving, turning heating off in away changing rooms, giving ball boys instruction depending on the score line and time wasting, I think it's a little bit naive to have acted this way.

I think we'll be having the same discussion when VAR is eventually introduced.

All the 50/50 throw ins that go Liverpool's and United's way, all the little things, they won't change.

Do we think yesterday's goal would have been reviewed for example? (If he wasn't offside) the players weren't calling for a handball...
But won't players, knowing that VAR is in place, appeal against any goal that could have even the tiniest bit of doubt around it? They'll all be ding their best Mia Wallace impressions;

I don't think any of our players saw it! Do we just review every goal? Do we give VAR the power to override goals that have been incorrectly given and not reviewed at the time like yesterday?

At the World Cup the VAR would highlight it in the refs eating, noting there’s a decision he may wish to review. Easy.

Didn't the WC review goals routinely? Ten seconds that would have been ruled out.

Agree to some extent The Scottish guy was the master manipulator , press , officials ,UEFA and more , and it certainly earned the Rags a fair few extra points , just think Pep's low key approach is more classy ,personally i wouldnt want our football club to stoop to the gutter levels the Rags had to win titles , would rather have a Slipp G or a Kun 93.20 moment anyday , its typical City but not good for the angina.

Ferguson was a twat, Pep isn't. You can't change the way our manager believes is the right way to behave and nor should we try. Much better to improve the quality of the officiating than to ask our manager to behave like a twat.
