VAR (PL introduction 2019)

last night game shows why VAR is just another tool the bent officials can exploit and not to give a clear pen for chelsea and give offside without playing on knowing it was close and level they say you give the advantage to the player ??? and how on earth did matic stay on the pitch without a 2nd yellow and red card ????

VAR will not work until rules are changed how can it ?? when you bring in something to help the game you also need a overhaul in the rules, lookout and am laughing my ball off right now at the best thing they have come up with next season is every hand ball is hand ball so if it hits your hand or arm is a foul ????

All depends if the same incident for all other clubs dont get a penalty.

you just know we will get punished first with shirt pulling/handball, last night shown me that VAR is not in place to help football but to use and help the officials in giving the so called big clubs (utd/liverpool) a better advantage, how on earth is a shirt being ripped by pulling it not a foul and a pen ??? you bet if rashford shirt was pulled and ripped in the box VAR would have given the pen

and also how can a player on a yellow already foul somebody get warned by the ref only to foul again within a minute and stay on the pitch ????

Thing is if they give a pen for shirt pulling for one team and not another theyll be shown up in time with Var eventually it will get more consistent

They have been shown hundreds of times by fans on twitter and other online platforms collecting numerous decisions and basically proving that certain teams receive favourable decisions. Without a big newspaper, sky or the BBC taking on the story it wouldn't last a day in people's memories. So I don't believe they'll be shown up unfortunately.

Only if it's reviewed by VAR. We, the fans, don't and won't know what is referred to the VAR officials. The armchair supporters may get more information and views from different angles, but unless it is referred, nothing will happen.
Until it is totally transparent, and all contentious decisions referred, and explanations of the decision made, heard by all present in the ground, then we may have progress.

But, realistically, that's never going to happen, is it? Too many vested interests involved to do that - you don't want to upset the gambling syndicates.

i will not hold my breath on that ???

VAR is a tool to bend the rules again and officials will turn a blind eye to the so called big teams, sky and BTsports do already with selected replays and when offsides are wrongly given they just move on quickly, also they are quick to highlight a kick out or punch or slap the officials have missed and when it will benefit the big 2 knowing big games are coming up video panel will be all over it

last night the bbc commentator said VAR and taylor have knowledge the incident ???? how the fuck did they know that ?? and WHY and WHY did he not see fit to bring it to the referee to have him look at it? ?? because from what i seen clearly a chelsea player was having his shirt pulled to a point of it ripping and that must be a foul and pen

VAR will be a fantastic technological advancement that is sorely needed in a sport whose officials can no longer keep up with the game.

Unfortunately for us it will be watched and judged by the same set of cheating ****s so I can't really see that much change on the horizon.

This is right. Watch any goal from any corner and you will see some off-the-ball shenanigans which, if the will was there, could be used to disallow the goal. We'll see whether that is applied evenly across the board (mind you, "we never score from corners anyway").

Remember the "clampdown" on jostling at corners ? Two clubs had penalties given against them. Stoke and City. The idea that the worst offenders, Smalling and Lovren would be pulled up is risible.

What I find bizarre is that it's only used in certain games. It should be all games or none.
If VAR can't be used at certain grounds in the cup competitions it shouldn't be used at any.
Said this before on numerous occasions. If you are in a competition then the rules have to be the same for everyone otherwise it's not a level playing field. That said even with VAR in place we have been done out of blatant penalties so it still isn't a level playing field.

As long as there is still interpretation and grey areas within the laws, VAR will still have people losing their shit at decisions.
