VAR Thread - 2021/22

I know, but like I said I couldn’t after watching it several times tell you if it was on the line inside or outside, that’s how close it was.

They didn't show a photo of where the real contact happens. Their defender played for the ball and his challenge started outside the box, but the proper contact that brought Kevin down was on the line, imo, should have been a pen. And should have been a red card as well for the other foul.

I'm a bit surprised a photo evidence of the contact hasn't appear yet.

Love City, hate VAR.

Couldn't celebrate our goal yesterday until we finally kicked off. Those two VAR checks far too long, and really took the wind out of our sails when we had them under the cosh.

Scrap it now.
Just goes to show that it’s been 2/3 years since it got introduced and it’s STILL not fit for purpose. If it’s not 100% full proof it shouldn’t be there. I’d say it’s about 50% accurate. It sucks the emotion out of the game STILL. Regardless whether you think the right decisions were made yesterday, it totally ruined the flow of the game AGAIN

I cant understand why they cant just simplify the rules regarding VAR.
The obvious one for me would be to use the head as a reference point and disregard any other point of the body, i would also include that there should be clear daylight between the players heads for an offside to be given.

While we are at it i would only use VAR if a manager requests a review and this should be limited to 3 calls per game.
managers would use it to waste even more time as clock runs down

It's simple. 50/50s the refs in our games don't award and wait for VAR to ref the incidents. Any doubt goes against us.
Dipper and United games 50/50s ( being generous) Refs givef them a and ref waits for VAR to sort out. That's how they avoid the ire of the fans. If we get the decisions via VAR then VAR is fckd (see Arsenal Game)

Watching a bit of Big Bash cricket this morning and they use frame by frame technology. Why can't this be used in football for offsides instead on guessing point of contact. Ref missed four big calls yesterday, foul on Foden edge on box, penalty or at very worse another foul on edge of box and two red cards for Southampton. VAR failed miserably on the three it could help with but because of no transparency we have no idea why unless of course we are reffed differently. What's that you say, I can't hear you.
