VAR Thread - 2021/22

Been saying that for years. A big countdown clock at both ends of the ground, which starts when the referee blows his whistle, stops when the ball is out of play (for whatever reason), and resumes when the ball is in play. As you say, it's done in other sports (rugby, hockey), so why not football? No timewasting as the ball is not in play and the clock is not moving, so spend as much time as you want in feigning injury, broken nail, laddered tights, whatever, the clock won't start until you're ready. You'll soon get fed up of finishing at 5:30 for a 3 pm kick off., to say nothing of night matches.
This…. Will never happen

I heard today that not once has a ref this season stuck with his original decision once asked to look at the monitor
Yup, it is a guaranteed change of mind, even when ludicrous like the scouse penalty the other day and possibly that penandez stamp on the Villa player for his penalty lol that still amazes me tbh

Pretty sure there was one. I can't recall who but I sure i remember the ref looking at the monitor and keeping his decision. Think it was this season, could be wrong

Now that stat has been mentioned by the media
I will guarantee that in the next week or so they will go over to the screen and stick with the original decision and there will be no surprise it will be against us

LOL the ref is better than tyhe opposition in blocking our passes? Bit silly tbh, refs have so much to deal with and if they are cheats they'll just award a penalty or fk or red card.... Not spend their time trying to get in the way of partiular teams and particular passes.... wtf. Why are conspiracy theories just full of holes.
Are you a paid shill?

Just seen the Leeds vs Newcastle highlights on MOTD from the weekend.

I'll start off by saying, I find myself routing against Newcastle.I don't care if they get relegated, they'll be back up the following season but it will slow them down at least. Even if they do stay up, they'll soon find out what City have done wasn't easy, nor was it just a matter of how much money they had. So many of them seem to think they can follow the same "blueprint" but they can't IMO, they couldn't even if things were the same as when City did it. They don't have a local bitter rival that's the biggest club in the world as their backstory, it would be near impossible to replicate the 93:20 moment. It might be slightly unfair of me but I can only think of that meatball head, True Geordie and his absolute bile and jealousy towards City for the past 10 years. I don't know what proportion of fans shared that sentiment but I'd wager he wasn't the only one by a long shot.

Regardless of that though, watching the game, even though they were already 1-0 up. How on earth did the VAR look at the foul on Saint-Maximin in the box and say that was fine? I laughed out loud when I saw it. I seem to recall quite a few weird decisions going against them this season too. Dare I say it, that seems like the exact type we used to get against us but those have suddenly stopped this season. Is that just a co-incidence or is there something to it?
I live up in Newcastle mate and go to plenty of games up here. True Geordie is not typical. He is seen as an embarrassment by most I know. But they are beginning to wake up to the shit we have faced. I use to bang on about corruption and no one believed me. Now, they get it, see it and are seithing about it ...
