I think it's enough that they aren't like Lee Mason. I really don't know what he was thinking. He never struck me as a particularly good ref and he clearly isn't very good at VAR, either.

If I was the PL, I wouldn't want him anywhere near a multi-million-pound piece of broadcasting equipment.
Unless you wanted a certain outcome.

Come on nate, you don’t have to be Bill Gates to see that that decision was fucked up. Don’t have to be able to use technology to see a clear cut decision like that.
He just wanted to shaft Newcastle.
Ok, if he wanted to shaft Newcastle, why?

He can’t have not seen the push on Willock yet it didn’t enter his thought process. That makes him unfit to be a referee or he’s not understood how to use VAR properly.

He rightly advised that the goal shouldn‘t stand, but not advising about it being a penalty is either because he’s inept or that he didn’t think VAR should get any more involved.

He’s always been an incompetent ****, one of the worse yet he basically gets an easier job as he’s not getting the grief a match day official does, it seems like it’s jobs for the fucking boys.

Agreed. It’s weird to think he made that decision just to shaft Newcastle though?

I reckon he has done us a favour. That decision was so embarrassing to the PL/VAR, that any chance of shafting us next week against Spurs is now right out the window. We will probably see just how VAR should work in the next weekend's games.

For offside, there should be a nominated part of the body. Say it was the toes. A chip inserted in to the toe of each boot would make it a definitive, rather than maleable, subjective decision.

Hold the salt and vinegar, though...

Sudden thought (they happen occasionally) which foot would it be measured on? Back foot or front foot?
