I'm absolutely not saying all of VAR is corrupt. It was clearly brought in with the intentions of solving the problem of dodgy/contentious decisions and incidents where the on field referee missed certain clear and obvious infringements. It's merits I think were miss-sold somewhat in that the technology was not as good as it was claimed to be (limited by 50fps frame rate and limited angles).Just struggling to find the logic. Apologies for being curt. I’ll wrap it round more words next time.
HOWEVER, I think that on numerous occasions individuals with nefarious intent have taken advantage of the limitations of the system and used the fact it is shrouded in secrecy to their advantage, either for collective or individual gain and it has effected match results and league position either purposely or incidentally. My 'logic' is that when VAR has these particular 'moments' I can see no other way some of the situations we have all witnessed can be explained. There are only so many times you can dress it up as incompetence, and after 4 years you would think they'd manage to get their arses in gear.
