You are correct. Yet again the PL decided they were bigger than uefa and they would interpret the law differently.
I have posted before, if the PL stop kow towing to the media and constantly changing laws and interpretations, it would be so much better.
Last night was a straight penalty. That is why VAR did not intervene.
Do you think that a ricochet off your own body onto your arm should be a penalty, or do you think that’s an incredibly harsh decision?

Handball had always had an element of subjection, hence why it’s such a mess at the moment.

Whenever ex-pros use the “need to know the game” narrative, what they mean is it’s against the laws of the game, but shouldn’t be a foul.

The ref did give the penalty VAR just didn’t overturn it

indeed, but why did the Ref give it if there is a conspiracy to benefit Man Utd , it's an extremely dubious penalty in my opinion and the ref could easily ignored it - and it's quite a big defeat for them (which i'm happy about by the way)

Harsh or not those are the LOTG as things stand. Stupid twat really shouldn't have gone diving in with his arms out though

I’m just not sure why you think this has anything to do with VAR ?

Lol. The partisan rhetoric always amazes me.

It was definitely a penalty because Micah Richards did the same thing tbe best part of a decade ago and it was a penalty then.

If it happened in our next PL match and didn’t get overturned on VAR, you’d be the first on here crying corruption.

' Lisandro Martinez's back was turned, his arms taut and the ball deflected onto his hand. Penalty, but surely one that had to be overturned. Inexplicably, the continental VAR system upheld a call as egregious as some in the Premier League last week. ''

It's the LOTG you muppet. Harsh maybe but it's still a penalty regardless of who is playing. You argue, as always, but if you have any issues you need to speak to the lawmakers. Give yourself a day off maybe, I am concerned for your wellbeing

so like pre VAR, Salah does a blatent dive, zero contact and the ref points to the spot - that's the right way to go ? just accept it ?

fair enough honestly if you prefer that, but i'd rather he takes a second look at the monitor and books Salah
