Explain this decision compare to the Rashford one cause I'll tell you what you lot defending the refs haven't got one

F VAR and the refs that ruin this game

Of course the twats on commentary and in the media thought it was a penalty on Nketiah (except Le Saux), funny they didn't think the same when Lloris smacked Rodri last week and nothing was given, don't expect refs to regularly give pens for this sort of contact except if it's against us.

Thought it was supposed to give the attacker the benefit of the doubt? Fucking kill joy that is being used to manipulate results.

There is a tolerance level used in the Premier League. This one from Saturday was given onside, even though the attacker was slightly ahead of the second last defender as the two lines overlapped.

A lot of people are calling for the semi automated system to be brought in here. Which has no tolerance level. It will solve the problem of referees forgetting to draw lines but it will increase the number of really close ones being called as offside.

Yes Var was technically correct to rule Haaland offside but come on. A quarter of an inch! Where is the joy in watching football, it is about attack v defence and goals scored not waiting 3 minutes for a computer to forensically analyse something. A heap of shit.

Is the correct answer. This search for ultimate truth to the nearest mm will always fail to be convincing. The more accurate you try to be, the more factors come into play to make that impossible.

e = mc²

e = the number of factors leading to an error
m = the number of millimetres accuracy you are aiming for
c = a very large constant number

Einstein was a head of his time. And he was a City fan. Wasn't he?

Same example for Harvey Barnes' offside against Spurs and Nuno Mendes' offside in the CL yesterday. The offside law in its current form is ridiculous. What's the advantage of having a strand of hair offside? Take a screenshot of these offsides, show it to everyone pre-VAR, tell them the player's onside and I'm fairly certain no one will argue otherwise.

The offside law is doing its job, but it has absolutely lost its purpose.

The problem with the current offside law is that it is bollocks.

The offside law was brought in to stop forward players from gaining an advantage by being ahead of the last defender when the ball was played. That's it! But isn't it weird when you can be offside running away from goal when the defenders have a clear advantage? Maybe they should change the rule to 'Offside and gaining an advantage'? It would be another subjective call, but surely better than what we have now?

Was it technically correct though? Given margin of error it is likely to have been technically incorrect

I am not even sure it was correct. Yet another screenshot with a blurred ball that apparently shows it at the point it was struck.

So, why, with all this tech, 15000fps cameras, why are we being shown that shite? We're not being told or shown everything imo. Somat is wrong in the background, it smells of it.

For me though, VAR has gone full circle. We used to get the ref passing his judgement on incidents, sometimes wrong., mostly correct. Now we have 5 or 6 people looking at the same incident and (I really think) getting more wrong, but getting some really correct, and they're brilliant, they really show the value of VAR. But when it comes to judging an incident, really? In a subjective scenario, 5 or 6 people (Some of who dont know the rules or forget to draw the lines or interpret rules in different ways), and thats supposed to be better than the one person?

Letting more people into the decisions making process has introduced MORE confusion than just the one person.
