Seems they are now moving towards recruiting specialist VARs rather than it being a semi retirement job for ex referees. Likely to take some time though, so probably not going to notice much difference at the start of next season.
 
Can’t find this story anywhere. Not even on Martin Lipton’s Twitter.

I have to say brilliant move for FA.
6/7 from City is too harsh to handle so they have to put great obstacles.
 
What bullshit reason have they come up with?

I'm guessing it just doesn't fit in with Scudamore's 'strategic plan'.
the reason they came up with is that technology is moving so fast that something better might come along.

I've never heard such a shit decision in my life. The premier league is the richest league in the world and it deserves the best technology around by default. The fans pay for this so we expect fast accurate decisions. If the tech is only around for a year before being replaced then so what.
