I don’t go down the corruption road , seen as every club including United/Liverpool feel hard done by with VAR and officials - but certainly can’t dispute your main point of transparency and having us hear officials reasoning although I’m not sure that will totally satisfy - but Rugby does seem to showing how it can work.
Go and enjoy the rugby.

As long as there is a human element in refereeing a match, whether on the pitch or in a room, there will be always be errors made and contentious decisions.
'Errors' you say?

The amount of time some decisions take they could actually get the rule book out, thumb to the right page, read the paragraph twice... and STILL get it wrong.

I rather concede mistakes from the man on the pitch than the nerd that is watching it from all angels and replays, mostly trying to get goals disallowed.

Don’t talk utter bollocks.
Remember Milner being 2 yards offside at West Ham? Huge clamour for VAR on here after that.

Remember the Arsenal goal chalked off for offside when he was 3 yards on? Huge clamour for VAR on here.

Don’t remember managers mentioning how incredible that a sport as rich as football didn’t have VAR yet?

That‘s not my problem, that’s either a selective memory issue or a real memory issue for you.

It’s killed the game. And we all know it. Celebrate a goal? Just like you used to since time immemorial? Tough shit. We spotted the ball going out of play twenty minutes earlier. And it’s been disallowed.
You never asked for that?
Tough shit.

Has that ever happened?

No.

In this case both the VAR and the referee were simply wrong in the decision to deem Mahrez’s handball intentional and disallow Rodri’s goal.

Nearly all analysts and pundits agree.

It changed the game. It is what it is.
