There are different forms of intelligence.
Some people can take a car engine to pieces and put it together again. I'd struggle with that, but my IQ is just below MENSA level. I've also known some amazingly intelligent chaps with no practical side. When it comes to day-to-day tasks, they haven't a clue.
I suspect the human race complements itself - that is, society works best by employing individual talents in the best way to serve the collective good. We can't all become Prime Minister, but most of us have something to offer.
