Venezuela economy

Another inherent flaw with socialism is human nature. Human beings are far too selfish and egotistical for that economic system to ever flourish, long term. We’re not ants. Ambitious people are empire builders, and will use whatever political system they are subject to as a vehicle for that.
An interesting Weltanschauung.

Stuff about Trump , Brexit , feeling sorry for tramps and beggars.
What the fuck that has to do with the good folk of Caracas I'll never know.

Ah it’s Trumps fault. Nothing to do with socialism.

Anyway Brazil sent its army up there the other day and closed the borders.

Every single time it's the same old cobblers, as soon as this bankrupt philosophy hits the skids, as it always does,
the fucking septics get the finger pointed at them, when Venezuela was enjoying the best living standards on the continent,
lefties weren't moaning about American influence then, yet when it goes tits up because of socialism it's Uncle Sams doing.
Zimbabwe, a stunningly beautiful country that had provided food for the rest of the continent, adopted it and we see
the total disintegration of the economy, yet again.
Surprisingly though, the Yanks haven't been blamed for this particular fuck up, that's just another one that would have been alright
if only they'd done it proper like.

No harm no foul.

I’m economically centre right but I’m not politically “****”, as such politics takes a back seat to human wank stains such as Trump et al.

Apologies for calling you a pillock.
Sorted. I would want for government to be a structure that is not too rigid but not too flimsy. Strict socialist dogma can come to be too rigid and, in trying to control everything, ends up draining life. On the other hand current republican policy seems akin to handing the keys of a pub to a bunch of piss artists then enabling them them to lock everyone else out, whilst promising to give those outside a drink 'in a minute. honest guv.' How about government as a way of leading by example - enlightened structures moving fluidly with efficiency and the best interests of all at heart? Yeah, that's probably way too much too ask. But maybe a system that leads to Presidents that are capable of being vaguely coherent, prime ministers that - occasionally at least - come across as being in touch with both humanity and some sort of wisdom?

We have to remember the US is the largest state giver of aid in the world too.

Of course if a country takes their money but doesn't act in their interests then why should they help them do business?

The US will pressure countries with its foreign policy but that is because it wants to work with them. As we see with many, taking an anti-US stance has consequences and for the US to make consequences for those countries is quite a sound foreign policy to be honest.
