That's the problem.

We barely use any young players and if that doesn't change in next season (I can understand that wining title this season is most important so Bobby doesn't want to gamble with youngsters) we'll have hard time to attract young players, potential future stars.

Mancini has given more youth their debuts than any other manager in Citys recent history. Look it up.

It's not about Mancini only, I didn't have a go at him at all. It's about comparison with other teams. There's bigger chance young player would get some time in Arsenal, United, even Barcelona and Real at this moment that at us.

It would change in the future I am sure but right now young players can't expect much or any time in the games here.

Our young players are either too young, physically not yet upto it or simply not good enough. If we had youngsters who were ready & physically strong enough they would have played more but the best ones have wisely been sent out on loan so they can play regularly & develop. If they are good enough next season they will get in the squad.

Savic is young. He played. Look how that went.

Savic played only because he had to.

We can spin it as much as we like but the fact is there are better teams for youngsters on big scene than we are.

If I would be young perspective player I would definitely chose Arsenal for my first big contract as I would have better chance to get some play time and to develop myself than with City.

Again, that would change in the future with all plans the club have about academy and so, but at this moment, in next few years we're certainly not best destination for young players.

United's financial situation is so dire they have to roll the dice and gamble on youth players hoping they turn into gems.

That's true.

But more and more teams rely on that right now. Everyone want to copy Barcelona and produce or "produce" more young players instead of buying them.

I've read few days ago that AVB's plan with Chelsea is to attract best youngsters bla, bla.. how innovative and original, lol

Chelsea have paid millions for very young players and few if any have made it. In fact, only Sturridge, who was older and already a first team player

whoever tries to claim its a negative that youngsters who arent good enough are not played is talking shite out of their arse.

Either: Win league, challenge for titles.
Or: Lie around 4th/5th alongside arsenal.

I'd rather try to get to the top & settle for 2nd best only if I'm not good enough. If you can point to a kid at City who is good enough to play in a top six team but isn't playing regular football I'd be interested to know who that is.

The only player at any level of youth/reserve football at our club who might be ready for regular first team football at top six level is Guidetti and of course he is out on loan and developing even better than we probably expected. Razak, Rekik, and Suarez are all incredible prospects but very young and inexperienced with first team football and need repeated loans probably first. If injuries hadn't ravaged his stay here, Gai Assulin could possibly have been in our first team plans as cover for Silva/Nasri. As it is we are struggling to even loan him because he's injured so much but is getting fit again now.

Maybe the argument for my theory is somewhere in your question ;)
