Vieira on loan (Merged)

Here is the latest from the man himself -

Vieira, who played under Mancini at Inter, admits initial discussions are going well although a deal has not been agreed as yet.

"Nothing has been signed so far, but it is going well," Vieira told L'Equipe.

Good quality short term move.

For any doubters who would you rather have as a 'good quality short term move' Vieira or Owen?

Fantastic competition in midfield now. If Barry or De Jong were to have picked up an injury, we'd have been fucked, with Vinnie needed at centre back. To have Vieira (despite his age) will be a big boost for the squad. And just think... if you are an opposition midfielder, and you see Vieira and De Jong staring you down, i defy you not to be intimidated! He just adds to the winning mentality of the squad, and also brings much needed height to our midfield. Finally, bearing in mind it's nigh on impossible to get top class players that are in their prime in January, i think getting Vieira in on a short-term deal is a great coup.

Oh... and he hates the rags! I look forward to seeing him in a City shirt.
