Aye, words taken out of context and Dan Roan banned from the Etihad.

Interesting!

Yeah you are still really paranoid... no agenda no nothing, ref's get things wrong for many reason's...

Viera just stoking the fire a little... Makes a ref think next time he has a city or United game, Fergie has done it for years.

If we dont win the title this year only the pathetic will blame a ref... Given the refs didnt blow our lead, cause Tevez to be a cock, or book the ACON to piss us off.... They also didnt stop Dzeko looking like a world beater one min and a donkey thet next...

In a nutshell lay of the weed

Methinks you're taking the term ''agenda'' too literally.

Sorry i was brought up learning English... didnt realise it had other meaning's.

Please enlighten me

As you said yourself, refs get things wrong for many reasons. One of those reasons, according to Vieira, is the tendency for them to give important decisions in favour of big teams possibly due to their prestige, reputation, whatever you want to call it. This is what I suspect some fans wrongly refer to as an ''agenda'', not that they think the FA have round table meetings at 8pm every Friday night to figure out how to screw City.

I completely disagree.

Fair enough thats your opinion but the facts are that in the eight games where we have lost points this season you could easily argue that the ref has had a material impact on the outcome of all the results

Fulham away foul on dzeko in the lead up to their goal
Chelsea away blatant penalty not given at one nil, man sent off (prob fairly) penalty given
West brom goal disallowed
Liverpool away reina handball not given, balo harshly sent off
Sunderland away offside goal
Everton away 3 penalty claims waved away
Swansea away penalty given against, goal disallowed
Stoke away assault on silva nothing given

I get the point that in these games we could have played better and possibly one the games irrespective of the referees decision but you cannot get away from the fact that had the referees done their jobs then you're argument would have been made redundant and we would have been saying that the true sign of champions is winning when you are not playing well. Much like the rags have been doing precisely because of favourable refereeing decisions

To an extent, but the whole point is if we'd done our job properly we wouldn't been whining about the refs and having to rely on them.

I also think quite a few of those gripes are seen through blue tinted specs, and none of them should have had a bearing on the result.

Put it this way, are we really saying that 1 decision in 1 second of a 90 minute game is the reason and the excuse for us not winning?

Yeah we might not get a penalty, or there might be a foul in the build-up to a goal, but there's at least 89 minutes 59 seconds of the rest of the game for us to do something about it, and too often, away from home, for the same reasons we're not doing that.

Anyway, this thread is about Paddy's comments so let's leave it there.

I don't buy that argument. Some games we steamroller, but others are for whatever reason tight. Maybe the opposing club hates us with a passion, or perhaps they are in a relegation battle. Or maybe they have a new manager. Or it could be we have injuries or are just not at the races that day?

But for whatever reason, some games are tight. In those games it is going to be close, by definition. Your chance of winning hangs on which way the chances go and the dice falls. Or at least it should be like that. If the ref is bent and gives you nothing in such games, you are screwed.

It's not a matter of saying we had another 89 minutes to put it right. Sometimes you just can't. Even Barcelona can't.

Dont forget should've had a pen on Dzeko against Liverpool, they went up the other end and got a penalty for a ridiculous handball against Micah, worst penalty decision since the Sun Jihai shoulder barge, that got us knocked out the cup.

Also forgotten: Non existent foul on Fulham player by Kolarov at CC resulting in goal. Penalty on Balotelli v Swansea. Foul on Barry by Luiz v Chelsea resulting in goal. Foul on Barry by Crouch resulting in goal. The scum have to go back to November for anything resembling "evening itself out" FFS.

Anyway, doesn't really matter now.
