Is there more to this story ?

I am struggling to comprehend why a grown arsed man has escaped a prison sentence for punching a Child ?.

I can only think the perpetrator was mentally ill,or had something else i am unaware of going going in his favor.
 
It's their brief or how lenient the judge is too. Sentences can vary with ease.

I'm surprised with football because they tend to clamp down hard on hooligans to make an example of them. I've known men get five years for a fight.

I'm on a similar page.

No matter how much of a shite day youre having,or how emotional/angry you are,there is simply no excuse on earth for punching a young child in the face.

I just can't get my head around it?

Before I understood the accent a bit more, I asked a man from Birkenhead whether he was a Scouser. He got pretty angry!
