From memory those of us in the South stand behind the goal weren't kept back we were able to leave at the final whistle. All the cops had buggered off to their Kop end when the trouble broke out, there was nobody on the gates.i recall seeing a photo of the dad in the Manchester evening news lying in a hospital bad , they had battered him senseless in front of his crying son , and he was unconcious for a long time ........ i'm was surprised that he'd left the ground , as the rest of the City fans had been held back by the police ..... there was an evil atmosphere at Elland Road that day.
