Villa (H) Post Match Thread

I am happy to admit I didn't either, but I waited to hear clarification before commenting.
I didn't know it either. But I'm going to assume that a professional referee on the pitch knows the rule and if he missed it, the professional referees watching in the VAR room also know it. And they said it wasn't offside.

The commentators on my stream didn't even know what the Villa players were complaining about. They thought he might have handballed it. Then about 5 minutes later, they started talking about how the goal was controversial. Almost as if they'd been told to do so.

Im amazed we were given the first goal!!! quite an entertaining game on the whole i thought, another clean sheet & top of the league at this moment in time, whats not to love about this amazing club of ours :))

VAR kept villa in the league last season so they can fuck off moaning. The goal they conceded and they got away with it

According to the rules of the game, it was the correct decision to allow the goal. Dodgy rule that.

Yeah, tbh I do not really understand the rules involving offside in that case. On first glance, in real time, it looked odd but not necessarily offside. Upon review & VAR, not sure how they decide how to apply a rule

Nevertheless, it seemed a legitimate goal in the spirit of the game

Good 3 points top of the League - get in City. That was an entertaining game, impressive from Villa considering they had'nt played since beginning of year. Great clearance from Dias and thankfully the boys in the VAR room knew the rules. Like most people I did'nt know the rule (who does these days with all the changes) and thought it was offside and that Villa had been hard done, glad to be proved wrong.

Great job and great 3 points ,we are going to be really really tough to beat if we start finishing most of our chances.Hope we get a really good attacker in the summer to help us out in that department.

Great result on a horrendous night against a team with the 2nd best defence in the league that might well end up in the top 6.

We also got robbed of a penalty and had some plain old bad luck in front of goal.

Another clean sheet. Top of the league.
When was the penalty we got robbed of? I genuinely don't remember!

Was it when Foden looked like he got clipped?

Bonkers game! Deserved the win and even better seeing the reaction from our first goal. Ran out of words to describe dias, just give him the armband.

We could have lost that game cos Villa had their moments. They are a good side but we could have scored a barrowful of goals by the same token.

Well played VIlla. Even better played City.

We're a fuckinh very good team and we're two players away from being a great one. Bernie gets some stick but I love him. There's always a chance of something special with him and he never stops trying even when things aren't coming easily.

But Foden and Gundo are on another planet.
We are a striker away from winning the lot.

bbc post match report..........Rodri was offside before he returned to an onside position to challenge Mings and Villa manager Dean Smith was sent off for his protests.
they along with the rags and dippers at bt obviously dont know the offside rule

Need to get Serge upto speed ASAP his goals are going to be vital to the rest of the season, think tonights game showed we’re not going to ride our luck to many games
