Villa v City Post match Discussion thread

Thought the result was more important than the performance and lets face it Villa where the pits, had City got an early goal then you would have seen the game out easily.

BTW ok teams setting up like that but when it come down to the last set of games will they really be happy to stick 10 men behind the ball when they really HAVE to win the game ?

I doubt it lads.

Top of the league lad and i always thought if you where at this point come the time for Toure to come back then i still think you will go on and win the league.

Very happy with the win. Now with Toure brothers back aswell as Balo i think we have a chance of finding that early season form which has been missing for a few months now.

Aswell as the whole squad healthy. The ref is brilliant.

Great win, we dominated from the first minute up until they resorted to 1980's style hoofing it in the box tactics in the last 5 minutes. Sadly, at that point every corner looked like a goal opportunity for them, not helped by AJ mysteriously deciding to gift them a corner by shepherding the ball out for a corner at one point...
Still, we worked hard, dominated midfield, kept plugging away and won a game we lost 1-0 last season in similar circumstances. Was surprised at only starting with one up front as the amount of times we broke into the box in the first half only to find there was nobody to pull the ball back for was mystifying.
And now, 2 weeks guaranteed still top, a breather from the tension....life is good

Nice to watch a game in which the ref is not the talking point

Yep. A pretty mediocre game for the press. No cats/handcuffs/'horrific tackles' or, more importantly, dodgy refs!

There was a streaker.
Really! ffs, must have been when I was poppin the valium. Aint heard any mention of it.
Anyone post a vid?

Hart and Lescott deserve medals.

Silva was almost back to his usual self.

Three points.

Just need Aguero to start sticking chances in away from home.

Aguero is in need of assistance, little is created for him and very little support is provided from midfield. It seems this is Mancini's preferred tactics away from home - his overall game/workrate is superb but it's no coincidence he struggles to score.....

And as for Zonal marking......
I thought Aguero's best openings today were the ones he made himself, but I do see your point.
