Villa Vs City Post Match Thread

Gestede can break a leg next game...what was the need for that in what was a fair played game?

I have no doubt we'll win the league comfortably and this result won't matter too much when all's said and done.

But HOW THE FUCK do you leave your only striker on the bench for 85 minutes against bottom of the league when it's quite clear that no one else on the pitch it capable of hitting a cows arse?

Absolutely baffling.

No vitriol or hyperbole from me this afternoon but I will say that Pellegrini made some mistakes in this one as I can't say any player had a bad match. We missed chance, to be sure, but poor tactics and decisions lost us this game.

Not sure if he knew something we didn't but bringing on Navas for Bony was very surprising... In some ways bewildering.

But onward and upward, as they say.

Top of the league, qualified for the cl with 2 games to spare and quarters of lc, some of you muppets need to fuck off and support someone else.Bad finishing was all that cost us today.

I think you'll find having no strikers on the field for most of the game played a rather large part also.

Not a bad performance at all. But it's about putting it in the net. I think back to the rags 6 goals from 6 shots and their win against Spurs without a single shot, and I dream of that sort of luck. Still, clean sheet, plenty of chances and a point. We dust ourselves down and pick ourselves up safe in the knowledge that Lady Luck is not going to help us.

on the positive it was a potential banana skin avoided and a point away after a champs league away game that would have mentally and physically drained the players.

The not replacing Bony (who had done absolutely nothing before he came off) with Nacho is a strange one.........maybe Mp thinks he isn't at the level where he can lead the line on his own...but we all know sterling (who played well imho) isn't a natural finisher and then to play KDB/yaya out of position when he has seen that neither of them want to play up there/arent as effective is again strange one.

Maybe MP thinks Nacho isn't ready tp lead the line on his own but he has to start somewhere and today was a game to maybe take a chance on it.

At least we go into the international break knowing that at the end of it we should have Kun, Silva back fit and now Bony is injured I'm guessing he won't link up with the national squad either......if we can get through the international break with everyone unscathed then hopefully we will have everyone at full fitness for the run up to games at xmas......
