Thanks for that mate. We should all know by now never to ever pay any attention to some Call centre numpty who gives off some random info. It's never ever right.

We could actually do with a ticket office itk on this forum
Well for what its worth which is probably balls all a mate who's got a mate who's daughter works in the ticket office said they weren't going that well probably cos there ain't that many people on cup scheme with over 7 or 8 thousand points, but like i say nobody really knows.

I can well believe that. 7000 is a lot of points. The point made above rings true with me and I've posted before. Euro away tickets should be shunted out fast to allow fans to make plans. Start at 8000 and drop 1000 each day

Absolutely agree. Its a case of ever decreasing circles. They put tickets on sale at too high a points criteria so sales go slowly. The tour operators dont get much initial demand so cancel packages or dont put on extra flights. By the time the points criteria has dropped to a realistic level there are no reasonably priced travel packages available. End result is empty seats for a match that fans would love to go to.

A couple that I know were really keen to go to Munich, but by the time they were eligible to buy tickets (3,000 points) it was too close to the game to arrange time off from work and they were looking at £1500 for flights and accommodation.

perhaps that's a bit of a large drop, but they could stagger it over the day, especially as most now seem to get tickets by phone or the internet

why not do
9am - 1pm at 8000
1pm - 5pm at 7750
next day
9am - 1pm at 7500
1pm - 5pm at 7250

it would double the speed of selling whilst those in a higher points bracket gain an advantage to get theirs earlier

-- Sat Oct 08, 2011 1:56 pm --

good idea in theory, but if you are at work, then it's of no use.

surely a better idea would be to invite applications in advance, the club then know how many people roughly want tickets, and can process much quicker.

8 of us have booked 5 days in Benidorm and we've all got between 5k to 6k points worst comes to worst we'll hire a car and drive to villarreal and buy some in the end underneath our allocation rather be sat amongst our own but better than nothing.

my understanding of the factories act of 1974 is that workers are allowed a minimum of a twenty minute break every four hours, and it would seem that these days most have access to a phone and, i believe, some phones have this internet thingy on them

applying in advance is a good idea, but duplicates the work of an already poorly organised ticket office
