Villarreal (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Good result after twice throwing away the lead v Monaco, but hardly a convincing performance.
The stats are well in our favour but something is missing at both ends of the pitch.
Optimal way to win for the team. 2-0 at half time then coast given that we have another game at the weekend.

It didn't linger long in my memory, played OK for 20 minutes against what looked like a poor team, and then tried to let them into the game, good save from Donnaruma might have been important.

Mostly dreadful second half, and one of the worst games Gvardiol has had for us.

Wins a win.

But I know Pep will be concerned with how bad we are at sustaining the dominance, we only do it for like a half, been happening all season.
Got any other info off Pep you want to share with us all, be interesting to know what he thinks of how the team are playing presently.

Who’d have thought we would be doing so well after Brighton.

We are Still a work in progress. and I wish we didn’t coast in some of our games.

But we have squad that will get better, and with a bit of luck with injuries, we may win something this season.

I don't mind us shutting up shop when we are leading by a couple of goals, but some of our passing was very poor. But otherwise Nico, Rico, Bernie, Stones, Savinho and Nunes , were all decent.

3 points away in Europe, job done. 2nd half was dull as dishwater and a bit too sloppy at points but we were pointedly in 2nd gear so won't get hung up on it. Hope Nico is OK.

Fucking woman and her shit talk on TNT - they would never talk that way about dippers or rags - they hate it when we win
Oh they do ,especially Liverpool this season .Some of us on here should stop being paranoid .Enjoy the win

Depth in the squad is great. 1st half class. Should have had subs on earlier but no complaints. Lewis and Nunes great. Hope Nico ok.

Safe journey back blues who travelled.

Game management is important at this time of the season and City controlled the game in the 2nd half and bagged the points and move on, When you look at the squad and think 4 or 5 players can come in and we can get better as time goes on,

Again, we made it look like an easy win, but Villarreal are unbeaten at home since March and 3rd in La Liga, so respect to City and the players tonight in a well earned win
