For those wondering why Pep wants to extend Kompany even if he can't play much.

Have you not been paying attention as to how the club treat our older players? we value them and their contribution to the success we have enjoyed in the last 10 yrs,we let them wind down their contracts and then leave with our respect and thanks,now vinny is our captain,we could not wish to have a better man than him,when he is fit he plays,when not he travels everywhere with the team to lead them as a captain,he is worth more to us than money,i like the way we run the club,the players are loyal and behave well and the respect is both ways,he is signing on a reduced pay as you play deal so what's the problem?Probably neither of us..... All these guys are leaders in their own right. We'd have been exactly where we are with or without Kompany. And that's no disrespect to him. He just happens to play with a lot of self motivated leaders. We ate talking Centurions here.
Love Kompany and will keep him for all he has done and meant. But he simply isn't key in anyway now. And that's a good thing.

Agree 100% some on here have trouble letting go......and believing the facts.Love Vinny like the next guy, but there is no truth to this claim.
