Vincent Kompany injuries

I love Kompany, first City jersey I purchased was his.

With that said, several people are saying let him hang around and if fit he can play here or there. Every third game or so he starts he limps off the field in the first 30 minutes. He is so injury prone he's not worth a spot any longer. Not even on the bench. Not his fault, but the club has to move on now.

He has 18 months left on his contract. No team would buy him now so he's going to see his contract out and it will be curtains.

Has to be our 4th or 5th choice next season or even this January window. The last two years have been terrible for him. He seems strong mentally but after the euros I think there’s a possibility he might call time on his career.

Except he’s got 18 months left on his contract. It won’t be over till his contract has expired. Hopefully he can go out lifting one last trophy for us at the end of next season.

I don't know what wages he's on, but like with Pellegrini (I think?), I would bet the club would be willing to buy him out of his 18-19 season so he can retire, or move elsewhere if he really, really wants to, with some additional money in his pocket and a thank you for his service. I increasingly believe he will hang up the cleats after the World Cup. I also think he will either stay at City in a non-playing role, or return if he goes off somewhere to play a year. No one wants it to end like this, but City need to be pragmatic. A league title would be a fitting note to walk out on (no, not comparing him to purple nose). Hell, how about a CL and a WC too? No less than he deserves. A titan.

Kompany would get into my first team - just a shame he always gets injured. Wonder what it is specifically about that injury that keeps recurring?

One of our greatest ever players and we should do all in our power to get him fit or at the very least use him in some other capacity.

He was holding his leg towards the end of the Bournemouth match and I suspect he should have been rested last night.

I suspect he and the medical staff know his body better than you.
