Vinny is a very intelligent man and a thinker.
Instead of a coaching role when the time comes, maybe give him a job as assistant director of football.
Txiki isn't the youngest and will need replacing at some point. Get him to train Vinny up now and introduce him to all of his contacts so he can take over when txiki retires
He's just got a masters degree on some sort of business course (didn't catch what exactly), but he was interviewed on BBC breakfast this morning about it (longer interview to come on BBC at some point).

I watched the mini interview and was thinking of the post from someone about him being groomed for the DOF post in a few years.

I saw that piece myself.

Its great to see a player, with their considerable down time, commit himself to something other than gambling, playing golf or spontaneously, and excessively, inking themselves.Vinny most definitely has a very bright future when the playing boots are finally hung.

I agree, I wonder if he'll stay in football ? He would be a loss if not, but at least he won't end up as a failed manager, doing punditry.

For now I just wish he could get fit, and resume his playing career without worry.

I share that wish but i fear otherwise :-(

A player/coach role may be an ideal compromise.Whatever....we cant lose his character/experience.

Love the fact that he did a dissertation that was football related. Sometimes not easy. I did an Economics degree and my dissertation was on "The effect of price changes on football attendances" - easily best bit of my degree. (For info - very inelastic - i.e. Hardly any impact - double the price and it has a small reduction on demand hence prices keep going up because clubs know people will still go)

Well done Vincent Kompany. Hard work, determination and intelligence has brought him his MBA. Not easy when who have a day job and family.
