Vincent Kompany injuries

What I don't get is why does he start breaking down at the start of games? Why is it not in training or in the pre match warm up?
I think it's a mental issue perhaps.

Vinny doesn’t do all the training that the other players do. Some days he has specialist sessions with the physios when the other lads are training. Vinny knows his body best and will come off the pitch now when he thinks he is close to a serious injury. That is a lesson Vinny has learnt the hard way.

I'm starting to think that some of these "injuries" (Newcastle a possible example) are in fact part of the management of what ever is the cause of them. Maybe Vinnie is under instructions to come off/not play if any discomfort at all is felt.

It looked that way the other night, even after it was obvious he was going off, he played a part until we had the sub warmed up, and even then jogged off the pitch looking OK, he was clearly feeling something, and the right thing to do now is not risk making it worse.

Its frustrating for us, but it must be hugely more frustrating for him.

It all seems so random. It's not as if he had been overplayed. Some games he can manage the whole ninety and we all think that he's through the worst and then the next game he manages a few minutes. He seems to be having substantial gaps between the minutes he plays and when he's in the starting eleven I, for one, am counting the minutes expecting the scenario we had on Wednesday.

You might be right Jordie but we have conceded very few goals with Vinny on the pitch.
Also conceded very few goals with Mangala on the pitch. I think mostly that is because of the players in front of them. Giving the ball away against Newcastle and Bournemouth you can usually get away with it but it will be different against the better teams in the world.

Yes, Mangala has been playing well. He helped us see out the Derby win and dominate Spurs.
