Vinny joins Anderlecht as player/manager (Simon Davies follows him)

What the way to write his final chapter as a Blue. He will always be my favorite player of all time. The team will have a leadership void with this loss of a great champion. No team in the world wouldn’t feel a loss like this.

Totally agree. As much as it was fairly obvious with the waves and the tears I still hoped he wouldn't go. Genuinely gutted but after all the injuries what a way to bow out, playing like the all time City great that he truly is. My favourite ever City player for so many reasons.

I’ve only been a football fan for the last 7 years when my daughter started playing, but Kompany (and Toure) was a big part of what attracted me to this club. By the time Yaya and Hart were let go, I was ready for them to move on, but Kompany leaving hurts. He was such a big part of this club that I hate to see him move on, but definitely wish him the best and hope he finds his way back in some capacity in the future.

Basically, you play the first 30 games. If you get in to Play Off 1, you get half the points you've earned and the competition between the first 6 begins. Technically, you can win the league if you've finished 6th after the first 30 leagues.

It will be interesting to see if Vinny loans anyone from City. Maybe they could become a part of the CFG?
The squad is the worst ever... While Anderlecht was a team who had a lot of good players in the past, this season, it's pretty bad.

In goal we have a good goalkeeper called Didillon, that's a good base.

But in defense... We don't have a right-back. I feel we should go and work with Saelemaekers, but he's 19. He has two competitors: A Frenchman, called Appiah, who isn't worthy to clean any booth for a first team-player, and an international of Honduras, Najar, who is good but always injured while tying his boots.

In center, you have Bornauw, Kara, Sanneh, Lawrence and Milic. Let me tell you: the last three, it's the worst ever. Bornauw is a big talent, who already has a lot of impact. Kara was good when his knee wasn't so bad. Sanneh was our second expensive signing and he's very bad. Lawrence (Welsh international) and Milic (Croation international, BENCH) are only useful to fill the water-bottles.

In midfield, we have Kums and Trebel. The first one was the general of the AA Gent squad who eliminated Tottenham a few years ago. Trebel is the player with the heighest wage at the moment. There was a big scandal concerning match fixing in Belgium and his manager was involved so the club wants to get rid of him.
There is a big talent, called Sambi Lokonga, an elegant central midfielder. According to me, he'll be very good.

In front of him, you have the biggest talent in Belgium. Yari Verschaeren was in the squad for the first time in November but he made an immediate impact. Keep an eye on him, he's surprising me every week.

For wingers, now we have Bolasie (Everton, Palace, Villa), who isn't playing that very will at the moment, although you can see he could bring a good vibe to Anderlecht. For his postion we have Amuzu (nice young player but has no vision) and Doku and this is a very, very, very big talent.

Strikers: that's just ridiculous. I wont even mention them...

I can understand his decision. I think, honestly, Vinnie was a bit dispirited by being roughed up by Troy Deeney. He looked at himself in the mirror and thought “Do I have the cojones any more...?”
And the look said it all..."I give in Troy. Cant compete with your skill. Btw, looks like we might get a hatful here."

A wise man once said it is better to retire when people are still asking why rather than why not. A true city legend and gentleman of the pitch

. Btw, looks like we might get a hatful here."

True. But I think the look also said, apologetically “I know it’s against the run of play.”

;-)

So Joe, Zab, Yaya and now Vin are gone. What extraordinary times these have been! Two are left - it makes me shiver to think of those two going, I can’t really contemplate it. But when they do, a certain era will definitely have ended.
But we are already in transition, and a new era has already begun. We have at the helm the best man on earth to steer us through it. Pep — help us to get over the loss of Vin.
“What’s past is prologue ...”

Yep and when Peps time is done I hope Vinny has proved himself as s manager to come home.

Vinnie has certainly bowed out at the top / with one hell of a bang - winning the league with 98 points, playing all those final must-win games with almost all clean sheets, that goal v Leicester, lifting the Cup in front of 84,000 at Wembley after a 6-0 win to complete the Treble.
All as Captain of a side scoring the most goals ever, and winning the most games ever. Oh, and winning 'Goal of the season' from defence.

Not sure you can go out on a more successful note ?

If you have to leave, then this is the way to do it !

Vinny has been colossus for this club - he is the face of the Manosur regime. Not just a great player but a Leader. Its hard to remain have the respect of all the players but this guy has led by example.. There are not many like him around so its not just a player we need to replace.

I also think this guys can end up being an ambassador for football or even a politician, such are his talents. All round great human being!!!

And to think when Vinny joined we were courting John Terry as the face of Man City! Thank you Vinny not only for being the best captain imaginable, but for being such a humble person as well. I love that we don't seem to have any big time twats like other top clubs and this I am sure is in no small part due to the example set by our leader. I pray that this continues as his legacy and that one day we get to welcome him back.

If only we could all bow out in such style. Much as I’m sorry to see him go, he picked the right time without a doubt.
