Trouble is vvd has already said he wants to go to the dippers... Not doubting his talent but pep has already said he only wants players who want to be here.

Would be a great addition to the team if we could get him.
Would have to go on rawk for the craic as the dippers would be on full victim mode about big bad city ( no histree club) taking their targets .

Don't know how much truth there is in that. Apparently the report came from Liverpool. Wouldn't be surprised if he had talks with Kloop and said he wants to join. But that doesn't mean he only wants Liverpool, think his main ambition is to challenge for the title and play CL whether that be with Liverpool, Chelsea or City. With Chelsea/City being more attractive propositions out of the 3 IMO. Think its just propaganda that he only wants Liverpool and not much in it.

Supposedly his preferred option by the sound of things but I'm confident that if he had a meeting with Pep that he would be very happy to come to us. I'm sure Pep would at least want to speak to him rather than taking the word of the Liverpool Echo that VVD wants Liverpool and nobody else. I think it is just the price tag that is putting us off.
 
If it is just the price tag I would be surprised...if pep really wants him and he's happy to join us then I'm sure it would be paid.
Another centre half and maybe a forward and this would just be the icing on the cake on what has already been a fantastic transfer window.
Very very happy with who we have recruited.
 
I remember Nedum Onouha dribbling through a crowd of players and scoring a goal as well. Micah Richards did it a lot as well. So what? That makes both of them Pep centre backs as well does it? You can get a 4 minute youtube montage of Gary Caldwell where he looks like Maldini ffs. And yes the Scottish League where Sinclair and Roberts both look like Ronaldo because the defending is shite. Every manager also wanted John Stones and he has only treaded water for us so far.

You really should knock this on the head mate.

No he isn't Pele, but compared with central defenders, he is right up there, as a footballer.

You may have missed the fact that he has been playing in the Premier League & all the managers and d.s of. f. took the same miguided view, hence letting a potential 60m player sign for Sothampton for peanuts.

Now they all want him, because of his Premier League performances, not his Scottish League games.

There seemed to be real interest very early on until it became obvious that Southampton wanted such a huge fee. Then it went very quiet, immediately. I assume Pep rates him but as a club we just aren't interested at the prices being mentioned.
