What's up with you shall we just let you have the forum. IT'S A FORUM@@@@ people debate, stop calling people wums and trolls just because they don't agree with you.
I'll carry on as I've done for the last 8 years without your help if it's all the same.

Evans, is 30 years old in January, will cost 30m, 3 year deal makes it 10m a year amortization.

VVD just turned 26, will cost 60m, 5 year deal makes it 12m a year amortization.

Not that big of difference amortization wise but VVD is much better value long term. Add to that Evans has no resale value while VVD has the potential to be one of the best centerbacks in the world.

Honestly can't believe we are getting an old rag centerback that has no pace, yes he's a leader and has expierence but the cons outweigh the pros. VVD is a no brainer, you spend more but are set for years to come.

Terrible planning by the club, mid way through the season we'll have a 31 year old injury prone Kompany, 30 year old Otamendi, and 30 yo Evans, and young Stones.
City have got a lot wrong in recent years when it comes to transfer.s We've spent extraordinary amounts but churned through a lot of players, however we're not alone in that regard. However do you remember players like Savic and Boateng who were written off immediately by fans and they turned into outstanding defenders given time.

If we buy VVD we will hinder the development of Stones in my opinion. I rate him. I think the ideal way of strengthening our defence is to provide back up to them with an experienced player who wont need 6 months to bed in, and maybe at the end of the season we'll look back and say that John Stones has developed into the player we all thought he could be.

If we went down the Edinson Sanchez or VVD route they'd play alongside Kompany and Stones would instantly become the transfer flop. Another Bony and his confidence might nevr recover.

So if every time a player is sold, I'd every team and player that doesn't purchase him making a mistake?

As I say, you're just trolling now, but yes, if we buy him and does well then it will obviously have been a mistake to sign Mangala for 4x as much instead of him.

I am not allowed to respond to stuff like this in the manner it deserves.

No, not EVERY TIME a player is sold. OBVIOUSLY. Again, a, childish response to a perfectly reasonable question.

One poster, who is also unable to answer he same question, is claiming that those of us who are worried about this, are basically thick, because people who 'watch football for a living' are all convinced he is great.

They could be right, for all I know.

BUT

Those same people, watched him play for Manchester Utd, for ten years & when he was released for peanuts, were remarkably quiet on recommending him, or indeed signing him. As was Pep Guardiola.

He wasn't a 17 year old kid. He hadn't made his name in Scotland, or Belgium or Africa.

He played for MANCHESTER UTD In THE PREMIER LEAGUE.

Nobody wanted him.

Now, they all apparently know all about how good he is & rate him highly.

Were they wrong then, or are they wrong now ?

I take it you can point us to your posts on here, recommending him ?

Thats an excellent point mate.....In terms of overall cost for the club, a guy like VVD has alot more value! (short term/long term and resale value)

It was a response perfectly in tune with the question which is ironic really given you throwing all your toys out of the pram.

I take it you can point us to your posts on here, recommending him ?

Show me where I've backed the signing in the slightest you angry little strumpet.

The man is right.

If you don't back it, why are you trolling me ?

I'm not remotely angry btw, just asking a perfectly resonable question, the same one.

I'll recap in case you missed the point.

A poster on here, has basically said, that the reason many of us are concerned about this JFE transfer, is because we are basically stupid by comparison to those who 'watch football for a living'.

My point is, that if these people who 'watch football for a living' are so superior, how did they miss the qualities Evans possesses, whe they were able to watch him every week, for ten years playing for Manchester Utd & he ended up going for peanuts ?

If their judgement was questionable then, should we blindly accept it now ?

I don't agree. I also rate Stones and buying VVD won't hinder his development. VVD can play on the left side of a 3 comfortably. He can also play LCB as he has countless times. Kompany won't play every game so VVD is a perfect replacement. He is a leader and SOTON captain. A physical presence and I believe him and Stones would be great together. We will rotate a lot and everyone will play. Edison Sanchez would hinder Stones development as they are both the same age and Edison is really inexperienced, he has talent but still makes a lot of wrong decisions, I think De ligt is the better of the two and Edison may turn out to be a huge flop for Spurs as most of their record signings have been. He's only been in Europe for a year and gives the ball away a lot in dangerous positions much more so than Stones. His decision making is questionable and IMO he was very suspect in the EL final against an average rag side.
