Which other attainable options do you have in mind mate?

I will leave that to Pep, we have been linled with a few, which honestly I cannot be arsed looking up.
I would be very happy to have VVD and to sign him as soon as we could, do I think he's worth 60 milliion on these seasons form? No.

All I said was if we could work a deal to get him for less it would be nice, if we pay 60M we pay 60M and welcome and what an asset, but he is only valued at that because the scousers are desperate and southampton are determined to piss them off after the summers tapping up.

We're not the only team in for him, so presumably we're not going to insult Southampton by asking if we can have him half price since it's Christmas, or some similar shite.

He's worth what we're willing to pay. If Pep wants him for that money, he must see him as being worth what we're willing to part with wouldn't you agree?

No, sorry, that just doesn't make sense.
I'm trying to see which bit doesn't make sense there. You might not agree with the valuation (£60m?), but if Guardiola wants him, and we pay it, then from my reading of it, that's what the post is saying.

If Guardiola rates him and VvD I will back him but I am being honest here and just don't rate the player too highly for that price.

Look how Otamendi had developed under Pep. Doesn't dive in as often anymore and is superb now at distribution from the back.

VDV will become one of the best in the world under Pep.

What part?

I’m assuming the what’s he’s worth bit. We might pay 60m and land him - so £60m facilitates his transfer from Soton but it doesn’t mean he’s worth £60m - only time will tell on that score.

Whichever part Mr Genie is reading.

Somebody's agreed to pay what Southampton wanted...... we'll found out who next week I guess.
What is more concerning/interesting is if he's been average at best this season due to injury he had or just not being bothered?

That’s a good point re Otamendi - always thought he needed to stay on his feet and be more patient but can’t believe how Pep has transformed his distribution. In contrast whilst Otamendi has learned to be more measured and patient Stones has been encouraged to be significantly more assertive and aggressive. Excellent coaching by Pep. On VVD it’s his call as a few have said _ if he’s ambitious and wants to be a winner he will come to us. If he wants to be a fancy dan he’ll go to the dippers.
