I felt that way about Walker, and have to admit he has been amazing since he has been here. If VVD comes here he will be amazing under Pep.

Or and I'm going out on a limb here, the mirror writer is sitting at home with a hangover and an article to get in before a deadline, sees the story in the DT and thinks "brilliant, I'll have some of that, throw in Liverpool are interested as well", types a 2 paragraph plagiarized story and sends it in before patting himself on the back and having another beer.

Usually when we brief the press the articles hit within minutes as there's a certain embargo time we agree with the journalists.

If City are in for him I would be fairly surprised if he went to Liverpool instead. Yes he would be higher up the pecking order given their poor defence. However I would have thought that at this moment in time City are about level with Real and Barca in terms of being most attractive to sign for. If you are a decent player and Pep comes calling you would have to think he rates you and would be foolish to turn down the opportunity to work with this bloke and play for the current team.

You would surely look at what Pep is doing. Turning decent players into great ones. and great ones into world class ones. If you want to find out how good you can be and Pep gives you the opportunity then only a fool would turn it down.

Well prices are hard to judge right now but the fact you don’t even see a £30m player is strange. On form he’s in the top two or three centre backs in the league.

I’ve always hated him at Saints as he’s normally excellent against us.
