Some real whacky line ups in this thread, which may be synonymous with Peps style for trying things different. Quality that so many are naming Stones, who isnt even a City player. Someone posted a few pages back that we dont have a clue and he is right, but at least this thread makes the last few days before tne season starts pass a little quicker

Hart
Sagna
Otamendi
Stones
Angelino
Fernando
Fernandinho
Silva
de bruyne
Sterling
Aguero

would be my team, depending on signings and fitness

--------------------------------- Hart ---------------------------------
--------------- Stones --------------------- Otamendi ...............
Sagna ................................................................. Clichy
............................... Ferandinho ..................................
..................... KDB ............................ Silva ..................
...... Sane...................................................... Sterling ....
................................. Aguero .......................................

Going to throw Adarabioyo in because I think it would be brilliant to start with a Mancunian lad in Pep's first proper game.

-----------------------------Hart?
---------Adarabioyo---Fernandinho---Otamendi
Maffeo------------------------------------------------Angelino
------------------De Bruyne--------Silva
Sane-----------------------Aguero-------------------Nolito
(With Fernandinho moving forward).

-----------------------------Hart?
Maffeo-------Adarabioyo------Otamendi--------Angelino
---------------Fernandinho-----Fernando
Sane-----------------------Silva----------------------Nolito
----------------------------Aguero

With Stones:

----------------------------Hart?
---------Adarabioyo-----Stones-----Otamendi
Maffeo------------------------------------------------Angelino
----------------De Bruyne--------Fernandinho
Sane-----------------------Aguero-------------------Nolito

I've just put 3 possibilities out there and truth is I can think of at least 10 more combinations, the first one is probably too attacking although Fernandinho would push up and cover Silva and KDB. The 2nd option offers another defensive midfield which I can't see him doing at home to Sunderland. Not sure on the full back situation yet, I think Maffeo will start as he will be more match ready that Sagna or Zab and Clichy could start but I think Angelino deserves his chance.

Its great that its unpredictable, means we won't be as easy to read this year.

Would love to see the third one with 3 at the back plus wingbacks. Just hope he can get the discipline required to play that formation.

The 3rd one is my ideal lineup as well, obviously that still hinges on us getting Stones over the line.

Hart
Zabaleta Tosin Otamendi Clichy
Nolito Fernandinho Delph
Silva Aguero Sterling

Clichy will arguably be 2nd or 3rd name on the team sheet behind Fernandinho & Aguero.
He's been training since the very start and seems very taken by Pep and viseversa.

Clichy may lack a little offensively but his ability to intercept and get us on the front quickly is arguably only rivalled by Fernandinho in the whole squad. I believe they'll both be key in Pep's side this season.
