vs Sunderland Starting 11?

It'll be interesting to see if Yaya makes the starting 11. It sounds arrogant but it shouldn't matter too much who starts as we should have enough to beat Sunderland at home regardless.

I imagine the team will be something like

Hart

Zabaleta
Mangala
Otamendi
Clichy

Fernandinho
Delph

Silva
De Bruyne
Nolito

Aguero

The week after against Stoke will be a real test for us and Pep
Great stuff. Six years chasing Pep and we're gonna start his revolution with the same team and formation that Pellegrini deployed. Haha!

I was under the impression Fernandinho was going to be playing for Brazil in the Olympics, is that not correct?

With the arrival of Sane and possibly Stones with our earlier business accounted for imho we are still short of a goalscorer and the full backs situation to be looked at How do we match up to our competitors We no doubt have done some good business but do we have have enough to challenge for the title?

Yes

We have more than enough to challange - wherever it's enough to actually win it only time will tell.

I think Yaya will be used as a substitute to control the game, after hopefully we have established a lead with the high energy players.

Haha. Nolito for Navas! Barely recognise us. But in all seriousness, who else would play where?. Maybe Sane but he's young and has never played in the PL before. I imagine he'll be more of an impact sub initially whilst he gets used to the league. Once Gundogan gets back and we sign stones we'll have a lot more options and flexibility with the team but until then I don't see much difference unless he gives youth a chance

Looking at the players Pep has signed I have a suspicion that we are going to favour 4-3-3.

For Sunderland I think it will be:

Hart
Sagna Otamendi Stones (assuming the deal is done) Clichy
Fernandinho KdB Delph
Sterling Aguero Nolito

If Stones is not signed and Kompany not fit then I have not got a clue who will start as the second CB - I think Pep could spring a real surprise.

If everyone were fit and up to speed (big if!) then the team could be:

Hart
Zabaleta Kompany Stones Clichy
Fernandinho KdB Gungodan
Sane Aguero Nolito

I am hoping Silva can nail down a place but I think that Pep will fancy a highly mobile front 3 similar to Barcelona's setup.

The only player I would be 100% confident of being in the lineup is Fernandinho.

You didnt sat that in your last post
My bad. In fairness, I just missed the Stones inclusion. I think my mind viewed that as a question mark. "Komp/Stones".

I really don't think Pep will play Stones even if he signed yesterday and started training today.

Don't think Stones will arrive until next week earliest. Not enough time to settle in for Sunderland.

I think Kun will be rotated often to help him keep healthy
Could be right in terms of him potentially coming in as a sub at times, but Bayern played 52 games last year and Lewandowski played in 51 of them and Muller played in 49. But guys like Coman, Costa, Ribery, Robben missed a number of games due to rotation. Obviously Ribery and Robben were due to injury but the other two guys were swapped out a lot. I think most everyone but Aguero will play 10-15 total games less than him (if he stays healthy).

Dont know who he will play. But having seen all of the freindlies I suspect Adarabioyo will play, maybe in the first game. Angelino will hopefully play. Other than that I think it will be the usual team we ended last season with.....

Hart
Angelino-Adarbioyo(Or Otamendi)-Kompany-Clichy
Navas-Fernandhino-Someone
Bryune-Aguerro-Silva

Is Vinnie fit?

Imperative we keen him fit, if that means rotation, then fair enough, but we have better options nowadays

If everyone is available could
This formation work consistantly
Hart
Stones kompany otamendi
Fernandinho gundogan
Sane kdb silva nolito
Aguero
When defending sane and nolito
Track back when attacking they
Support aguero kdb and silva are
Most forward of the midfield four
Fernandinho and gundogan are
Protecting the back three if they
Step out of defence with the ball

I think someone is more a signing for the future, like our new fullback whatever he may go on loan

A city B team may be a good idea at this rate and a pay rise for the boot boy he's going to be knackered
