Want someone to blame? Blame HUGHES

I can take losing to the rags, everton and Spurs twice - fact is, they are three very well organised top teams. No shame in losing to them.

Hull, Burnley and Fulham at home stopped us from coming 4th. We led in all three and shouldn't of even let them have a sniff.

Would have been 6 more points.

We would be 3rd.

Excatly.

Absolutely bang on the money!

The number of goals conceded against the likes of Fulham, Burnley and Hull at home at crucial periods was the reason Hughes got sacked and a big part of why we haven't finished 4th. That run of 8 draws really did screw it up for us.

But it's not just his fault. We had a home game against Spurs where the winner took all; they won, deservedly, and they took all. It might be because we still have half a team of average players from Hughes era but ultimately we had the chance to finish 4th and weren't good enough.

Fifth is where I said we'd finish at the start of the year, it's just disappointing that Spurs have beaten us because really we should be beating them imo.

We need to get over it, pull our socks back up and make sure we don't lose at Upton Park or we may just end up down in sixth. A draw will be good enough.

It’s never one or two results here or there that result in a team failing to achieve a target and I can happily forgive Mancini for a couple of bad losses like the Everton loss for example. This campaign fell as a result of those 7 fucking draws in a row against:

Aston Villa
Wigan
Fulham
Birmingham
Burnley
Liverpool
Hull

Some proper shite in there, we absolutely should have come away with more than 7 points from those fixtures and that is what ultimately cost us.

Chins up though lads, this has still be a great season for the club and the foundation grows every strong, next season is going to be even better.
Points gained at Liverpool Villa and Wigan, the 3 home draws, all after being in front are the problem.
Mancini has to take some blame with the results v Everton home and away, Liverpool and Utd at home Hull and Arsenal away.
Mancini has done ok with a team brought in by Hughes, though it will be interesting to see who he keeps and who he gets rid of in the summer.

It was a general thought at the time that those home draws would come back to clamp our arses. It's been proved the case. We should have gone into last night's fixture well ahead on points for fourth place.

The Everton away game, we fell for the sucker punch. Silly penalty by Micah, and we were outplayed by an extremely comptetent EFC side. The EFC home match was turned on its head by a ludicrous decision to award the free kick in the first place. It's an easy cop-out but we have not always had an even hand from refs, but we should have done better at home than we did in the middle of what was Hughes' reign.

Regardless of who's in charge, we needed an attacking midfielder in the January window. It didn't happen. Why? Because Cook f*cked it up with Mariga. End of bleedin' story. Ireland has been shit all season, Johnson's injured, so why wasn't it sorted out? If the owners are that keen on CL football, why wasn't it sorted out? Can't be that bothered in my view.

I thought Mariga didn't come because he was denied a work permit by a committee containing David Pleat. Nothing to do with Garry Cook. Don't play into the media's hands by trying to disrupt the club.

Hang on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How many PL games did we lose under Hughes ??????????????????
Thank you !!!!!!!!!!
And how many under Bobby Manc.
Lets get things into perspective.
We have been tooo NEGATIVE at times under Bobby Manc.
Some of you need to get your head out of your arses.

Absolutely.

He failed to buy a midfield with 250 million!!

Hughes set us back 2 years. That I have no doubt.

But don`t you think that Ireland could have made the difference ???
He was our rock in midfield last season and who would have thought that he would have taken a real bad backward step this season !!
How many years have we been saying that we havn`t had a real hard fucker in midfield and we`ve been a soft touch in that position.
We get a real grafter and hard man but for me he`s been let down by other piss poor performances.
We need some more players like NDJ,who may NOT be blessed with finesse, but at least you know in advance he`ll run through a brick wall for the City cause !!!!!!!!!

Where did we lose those points?

Hughes dropped 22
Man City 2-2 Fulham
Man City 3-3 Burnley
Man City 1-1 Hull
Man Utd 4 Man City 3
Aston Villa 1-1 Man City
Wigan 1-1 Man City
Birmingham 0-0 Man City
Liverpool 2-2 Man City
Bolton 3-3 Man City
Tottenham 3-0 Man City

Mancini dropped 23
Man City 0 - 0 Liverpool
Man city 0-2 Everton
Everton 2-0 Man City
Man City 0.1 Man Utd
Man City 0-1 Tottenham
Hull 2-1 Man City
Stoke 1-1 Man City
Sunderland 1-1Man City
Arsenal 0-0 Man City

funny how everyone blames the run of draws, nobody mentions how pitiful we were at hull and lost 2-1, or the fact we just rolled over against everton and lost 2-0, they were awful performances of the highest order.
