Was it a penalty?

Penalty, and last man,so straight red.Let's be honest about this,if it was done to us ,that's what we'd have wanted.

Its a joke if they are to call penos on pulling peoples shirts there will be penos in every single match. Yes Micha shouldn't have done it and the linesman was quick enough to put his flag up but there is no consitancy in todays game. The last few minutes the same thing or even worst than what Micha did happend to Benjani outside the box. A Everton player had his arms wrapped around him if the linemans was calling for the peno he should of flagged for what happend to Benjani but no Everton went away with the ball.

Anyhow the players didn't want to know about this game and were thinking about the semi final and after that not too many deserve there place in the team on that showing.

Agree with most posts about the pen, but yours I agree the most with regarding consistency

But hey ho we got well and truely beat

Thats a great point you make leighton, f@ck me you'd have thought they'd have worked they're bollox off to guarantee a semi-final starting place

I know during the run of wins I would say whoever was missing out were thinking I wont get a look in at the semi final because the team are playing so well. 1 preformace like that will give those players a greater chance of starting a semi final when was the last time City were in a semi final? I dont know if Ireland will be fit for the match but he will be hopefull of starting that game if fit same as SWP.

Shite performance and we deserved nothing, but was clearly outside the box, you can't play advantage till they lose the ball then give it. Defo free kick.

Clearly it wasnt a penalty and even if it had started in the box, which it didnt we can get into the whole question of consistency but to be honest we were never going to win tonight . I would rather take the stinker of a decision tonight that in a game thats 50*50

Outside the box?
No come on now.He did it inside the box aswell.Even if it was only outside the box,it's still a professional foul.It was stupid, and no need for it.

he was like a owner from cruffs dragging his mutt round the park!!! it was a free outside then he continued to foul. micah needs to wise up and start earning his easy earned cash or else the door! as for the free kick, putting our smallest players in the wall is a joke by any standards.....JOKE...better team on the day won .totally outplayed and outwitted..... bring on the scum!!!!

Yes, it was given, end of.

By the way for those that don't know the rules, a shirt pull is a foul, a foul in the box is a penalty, so why debate it at all, its just stupidity imho.

That said there should be consistency, so I hope every lino/ref gives every shirt pull in (or out of) the box from now on, games will be finishing 12-10 for a couple of weeks, at least until the players get the message not to pull shirts (or shorts). I won't be holding my breath on that though, because if there's one blinding consistency in refereeing in the Premier League, its the inconsistency between them all, and from game to game by individuals.
