Watching England in Scotland

I watched England v South Africa in the Rugby World Cup final in 2007 in Elgin in a pub on the high street. I'd say two thirds were supporting South Africa but the only reason there were so many supporting England was that there were loads of people from RAF Lossiemouth and Kinloss there who were English, otherwise nearly everyone would have been support South Africa. Good atmosphere though and no trouble - probably because England lost!

This thread has brought back a good memory of going to a pub in London to watch a game.

My sister got engaged and she lives in London. We were down for it and on the Sunday we were playing in a cup final and were looking force pub to watch it. There was about 20 of us, and we went into a pub that had Arsenal on the big screen with about 8 Arse fans watching. We all walked in and a big guy standing behind the bar cleaning a glass. He looks up at us all. I stepped forward.

You the Guv'nor?

Slight nod

Here's the deal. There are 20 Scots here wanting to watch Celtic in the cup final. We all will be drinking like fuck. We can't get anywhere to watch it.

He didn't say a word. Just reached behind him and picked up the remote and turned it over to the Celtic build up.

The Gooners all started moaning like fuck.

You can watch through in the side room.

They looked at us and I don't suppose they were happy but they didn't say a fucking word

We were there 6 hours and spent a considerable sum. Got talking to the guvnor who said, they cunts nurse a pint all fucking day. And that he was a West Ham fan, so fuck them.

We had a great day and were told come back anytime for a game.

It was like the fcuking Alamo every time i went out in Camelon
Hey Camelon is great ;O) lived there for over 20 years....Ive lived in Scotland over 30 years and to be honest id be wary to go to a pub that I don't know with England top on nowadays....saying that I wear my clothes with city badge with pride and never got any issues at all. Most will discuss footy when they see who I support.

Going up to Turnberry with 8 lads this week to play golf.
We will be watching futba in a bar , 2 questions.

1 , have any lads had any good, or bad experiences watching England up there.

2, Have any Scottish lads any advice on tactics when watching England up there.
We are not sure if we are going full England shirts, singing futbas camin hame or not.

We will be drinking so that is not up for discussion.

Stand on the table and just shout

Wee archive gemmill was a one footed useless **** and that twat Robbie Burns poems didn't even rhyme.

If any of you pasty fuckers have a problem with that I suggest you speak to my mates. Be warned though they will colonise your arses.

Now if you don't mind can someone get me a London dry gin and tonic. And no fucking Scottish fivers in me change.
