Watching England in Scotland

You'll be alright, go full England, shirts, gstq, rule brittania, its coming home, vindaloo the lot.
The England team haven't just raised the hopes of the English, they've galvanised a Kingdom, the men in skirts are right behind us, I'd be surprised if you had to put your hands in your pockets, free bar and food will be a minimum and the birds will be throwing themselves at you, you'll be fighting them off.
From Lands End to John o Groats we are united in belief.

Take the banter as it’s. Intended , you’ll be fine, especially if you show you can laugh at yourself as much as them, start taking it too seriously and getting argumentative or defensive maybe not so much. Been here 20 years and in all that time never had any problem, but had some good banter., seen others get themselves wound up though which obviously makes it worse.

One well known Glasgow City Centre bar is where England fans congregate, strength in numbers. Easier in Edinburgh where the English population is much larger.

I've been up to Scotland loads, especially Glasgow, and I've never once got grief for being English.
I’ve known loads of Scots over the years: neighbours, colleagues, classmates at uni, people I’d call friends… and all of them like the English, especially Northerners.

I’ve always thought Mancunians and Glaswegians are similar in sense of humour and welcoming nature.

It’s like anywhere though, there’s always a knob head who’ll have a go. If a Scot walked into my local on his own with a Scotland shirt on for a Scotland game, we’d invite him to sit with us and enjoy the game amongst others… but I know of other lads in the pub who would say things to provoke a reaction.

Going up to Turnberry with 8 lads this week to play golf.
We will be watching futba in a bar , 2 questions.

1 , have any lads had any good, or bad experiences watching England up there.

2, Have any Scottish lads any advice on tactics when watching England up there.
We are not sure if we are going full England shirts, singing futbas camin hame or not.

We will be drinking so that is not up for discussion.

Futba? Thought the Scots 'n Picts always said 'fitba'? Or is it simply the difference between east 'n west coasts? Magicpole please come to the thread and offer us a definitive statement on what we are to say if we are watching the England v Denmark FOOTBALL match north of the border!
