I can understand it if the game was not on TV live and could understand it even more in the days when not only was it not on TV live but not on a shitty internet stream live but i cannot understand how anyone can go and watch the derby in the home end.

Because I love my club and want to be there.

I've say in dozens of home ends through the years.

Better that than not be there.

But isn't it better to spend the day watching it with fellow blue friends and family at home or in the pub rather than be surrounded by aload of twats?

just walk in full city regailia, sit down have a white phospherous grenade in one hand with the pin pulled and your hand tightly wrapped around the the release, in the other have a blue n white ricker with a twenty foot reach then you can ricker away all afternoon without any mither at all from norwegians?

Watching football on the telly will always be a poor substitute for the real thing to me.

IF I can't, or dont, get a ticket to a really big match I'll take one in the opposition's end no problem. Not this weekend but if I was offered one I'd take it without a second thought.

I attended a derby (in the stretford end) in the early 70's (73/74?). . I was 0-0 and I was 15 at the time.
Being a nervous youngster I didn't wear my colours but refused to wear anything red so stuck out as being suspect but I didn't get any real grief except from a kid who knew my face and knew I was a City fan. He spat at me and tried to get others to have a go at me but failed and backed off.

I met him in a pub about 3 years later and the matter was settled nicely though people did wonder why I'd suddenly become agressive.

You'll be cool mate .. biggest risk is that there'll be a bit of arm flapping and the stewards kick you out because of it.
If you decide against then please pm me and I'll buy your ticket off you!

It must be a generation thing then.

Maybe. For the young fans of today football appears to be a TV sport. Tat's why fewer people support their local team.

If we got to a Cup semi or final would you rather watch it in the pub than the opposition's end?

I'd rather watch it at home, i only watch the games that are not on TV in the pub (on forigen tele) and i don't like that. I'd rather have 3 or 4 mates round, few beers, indian/chinese/pizza to be delivered dead on half time rather than watching it in silence whilst half the ground is going mental, i couldn't bear it.

When City get to another cup final I'd do anything or pay anything to be there. Fuck the pizzas and shit. I couldn't eat. I've never missed a "historic" City game and don't ever intend to. I'd never forgive myself if we won something and I wasn't there.

i couldnt sit in the rag end it would be clear as day im a blue i would refuse to clap if they scored it's worth a few punches, ide neer celibrate with them scum bags. and how would you not jump up if city scored?? ide end up jumpin up :D
