Hard to tell the logic behind your response, if there is any at all.

It's a squad game and any member of the squad has to be prepared for the crunch games in the CL. Pep plays them not only to give rest to the starters but also to give playing time to squad players. In any case, we are not playing the EDS against Real or Juventus.

Palmer and Delap on the bench for potential debuts. It might be too soon for Braaf if he’s only been training for a few days.

With a winter World Cup in Qatar, there was scope to start the new season in January for the next two years
