Watford (H) | Post-Match Thread

Only complaint is we left a few goals out there today. Last goal was 40 minutes before the end of the match and we could have wiped out the goal difference entirely if Pep had been ruthless - and that would have really unnerved Liverpool and their fans because they obviously care about GD.

Why the long wait on the var decision for the penalty.
Scandalous.

They said on the radio comms between the referee and Stockley park went down so it had to go from referee to 4th official to some match official to Stockley park and back.

If we weren’t playing Tuesday night we’d have gone for it.

Pep played it smart today and kept the key players ticking over. Cole’s time will come next season.
Spot on.

Crunch time of the season, less than 10 games to play for the 2 biggest trophies and people are concerned youngsters aren't being blooded.

Unberfuckinlievable.

Wish Gabby had gone off before all his 4 goals were scored!!!

Bit of a sloppy first half, I thought, weirdly. The wind probably played a part. Cruise control in the second half, though, which was perfect preparation for Madrid.

Jesus exceptional, involved in every goal. Rodri with an outrageous strike I'll never forget. Special mentions for Raheem and Zinchenko as well, who worked hard and got stuck in.

Cancelo was poor, I thought - I don't like him at right-back. Agree with the stick for Grealish today - he didn't do anything wrong but didn't do much right either, he was coasting a bit.

Ederson 6/10 - probably should have done better for the goal

Cancelo 5/10 - lost quite a few duels, gave the ball away a lot, was daydreaming for their goal
Dias 6/10 - didn't have much to do
Laporte 6/10 - another quiet afternoon
Zinchenko 8/10 - has been very good these last 2 games

Rodri 8/10 - terrific goal, steady performance
Fernandinho 7/10 - put himself about, did some good work
De Bruyne 8/10 - stupidly good cross for Jesus' second
Grealish 5/10 - bit ordinary today

Sterling 7/10 - worked hard and kept going
Jesus 10/10 - if you can't give a 10 for 4 goals and an assist then when can you?

Gabby, Kev and Zin, magnificent.

Another dodgy showing from Cancelo, worrying.

Great result, gutted we couldn't add to the goals but no injuries and Rodri's goal was a thing of beauty.
He’s always dodgy on the right for me. Know he can be dodgy on the left, but feel he’s better going forward on the left which is weird because he’s a RB

Zinchenko my MOTM today (unfair on Gabby as that is), he was the first to get going today and didn’t put a foot wrong all match. Lovely moment at the end when he gave his shirt to a young City fan with a Ukraine flag and gave him a big hug. Mind you the ground was three quarters empty by then. He is a credit to himself, his country and to us
He stood out today, lots of ability and loads of good stuff from him.

Well pleased for him.
