Watford (H) | Post-Match Thread

I know fella :) I wasn't having a pop either we are just both having an opinion that's all. I agree they were both poor today luckily enough it was a game which we could afford a couple of our lads not being at it. Hopefully Kyle is back at that point so Cancelo can go back to left back.
Cancelo has played a hell of a lot of football. A couple of games off might do him good.

The defence probably wasn’t helped by the Rodri/Fernandinho double pivot making a 424 formation and different positions to stop passing lanes.

One of those games where, after spending weeks staring at the fixture list, you do start to believe that winning all the games left is very possible. Watford perhaps the easiest of what we've got left, but the team looked relaxed and even seem to be enjoying themselves. I'll have a pint of whatever they're drinking!

Kev is at his best, ostensibly second team players are hitting form, Dias just fills me with confidence even when he's not at his best. Could be a big few weeks, I am fully starting to believe we might do something special.

Great performances from most. Jesus was great and any talk of selling him is stupid talk for me, he’s very important for us and I’d rather get rid of all our other forwards than him.

Zinchenko’s tackle at 1-0 was brilliant!

de Bruyne is playing the best football of anyone anywhere at the moment.

It's stunning how average he is on the right compared to how well he performs on the left. Seems to lose his bearings a lot, like his internal compass is set wrong. Lost count of how many times he gave the ball away, lost track of it in the air and got nudged away by a Watford player, kicked it out for a throw-in by accident, etc. etc.

Have never really trusted him on the right but ever since the end of last season at Brighton, when he somehow let Danny Welbeck (!) get the run on him and had to pull him down, him being put on that side gives me the fear. I hope to god that Stones or Walker are fit to start out there instead because Vinicius will turn him inside out.
He plays brilliantly on the right for Portugal.

On the train home.

Jesus mustard; so chuffed for him; loved the way rest of team celebrated with him after his 3rd.
KDB semi mustard; his usual brilliant self
Ake excellent; if we get to CL final against liverpool he has to mark Salah.
Raz disappointing with finishing but works his arse off for the team.
Cancelo: below par - gives ball away too much; the odd worldie or special pass each season doesn’t compensate.
Grealish - go forward ffs; be ambitious; take a strike.

Pretty sure Cancelo had a similar end to last season did he not?

He’s one who seems to go through patches instead of being a consistent 8/10 week in week out.
