Definite 8 games left, the 6 most important are in the PL.

Concentrate on those 6 and treat the other 2 as a bonus.

A CL Final against the Scousers is not something I would relish.

No need to be afraid of a CL Final against that lot. We've played them twice this season when on each occasion we were the better team. Can't judge us on last Saturday with half a team out against their fully rested first X1. Even then, they failed to capitalise in the 2nd half. If we get to the final against them the only thing that would worry me would be Pep's brain working overtime again.
Dippers are a very good team but if we both play our A game City will win. Anyway, let's not rule out the underdogs Villareal just yet.

not for me as premier league more important than champions league and the dippers wont be resting anyone this weekend? IF we can get 2-3 goals ahead then make changes but full steam from now on and the players should realise they have a maximum of 9 games left this season i believe if all goes well?
I'd be shocked if Liverpool put out a full strength team. Their best bet would be to see the derby as another home game against another relegation team and then try and blitz Villareal early in the first leg so they can rest again for the return.

They will rest anyone that needs resting as they know they can beat Everton without full strength just like we can beat Watford. If they need more power, they bring players off the bench. That should be our approach, put up the team that can win but keep some legs fresh for Tuesday knowing that Real Madrid doesn’t play in the weekend. Regardless of what some fans think, a Champions League semifinal has the entire world watching and is when the club needs to show its best version, certainly our manager and players feel strongly this way

Full strength for this match get it done by half time or whenever we can and then get some players off. We can’t afford any slip ups the league is the priority.

This, from Martin Samuel.

IS THREE THE MAGIC NUMBER FOR LIVERPOOL?

Here are Manchester City’s Premier League results in 2022, broken into handy groups of three. WWD; WWL; WWD; WDW. Notice anything?

To win the league, they will almost certainly have to get out of the habit of dropping points in one game of three.

Watford, Leeds and Newcastle constitute the next sequence.

Although Pep & the team won't be taking this lightly, this isn't a forgone conclusion. I would look at starting Kev & Rodri, hopefully subbing at half time if we're in front if not at 70 minutes. Think Berny & Phil need a rest
Eddy
Cancelo Dias Laporte Ake ( unless injured)
Rodri Gundogan Kev
Mahrez Sterling Grealish

The only concern is if Ilky can play 2 games in close succession with his back problems

Like Samuel but the last set of 3 does fit the theory
